There is a hierarchy even among conspiracy theorists.

Dictabelt, you should broaden your horizons. Try speculating about the Moon landings.

I tried one of those IBM dictabelt recorders for about a month and ended up returning it because it was just too awkward in actual use. I don’t think they lasted more than a couple of years on the market.

Let me say this about that. The intelligence community in this country (and other countries too) has a disinformation wing whose purpose is as follows. When an intel group actually carries out a conspiracy, it covers its tracks by creating phony conspiracy theories that lead anyone investigating the incident down multiple ratholes. They also spread the meme that ALL conspiracy theories are inherently “nuts” thus discrediting any and all attempts to get at the real truth behind incidents like the Kennedy assassination(s). There are real conspiracies, folks. They’re just not the ones you hear about….

DICTABELT! Now THERE is a name from the distant past!A dictabelt was a flexible cylinder of magnetic recording tape (like the tape in a cassette) that slid onto two cylinders in a “DictaPhone” which was the precurser to tape recorders. Instead of one long thin tape going from reel to reel, the dictabelt worked more like a vinyl record. The recording head would slowly traverse across the Dictabelt, making a recorded ‘track’ that spiraled around from one edge of the belt to the other. They were used extensively in law offices and court proceedings.

I wonder how many conspiracy theorists support Trump? You know, deep state, Crowd Strike, and all that stuff.
