If only it was just the resident, America would not be in such a perilous position. Between the disinformation/propaganda against a government of the people, by the people, and for the people initiated by enemies of the US and anti-math, anti-science, anti-education of the wealthy non-college educated small businesses that feel threatened by the changes the future is bringing a coalition has formed that prefers anarchy over our constitutional democratic republic. Luck, (e.g. winning a lottery) has replaced education in their minds and it is seen as an expense that serves no useful purpose. A portion of We the People has been neglected and sees no value in our democracy and no one seems to want to change their misconceptions but would rather just try to insult them (deplorable, etc). It seems that we do indeed get the government we deserve due to our apathy and unwillingness to effectively correct the disinformation where it is most needed. We pay a heavy price for allowing neglected/fly-over areas to exist and to nurture their own misconceptions of what America should be.
This cartoon reminds me of the response that composer Max Reger sent to a critic who panned one of his works: “I have a copy of your review before me now. In a moment, I will have it behind me.” Thus Ol’ Punkinhead and the Constitution.
All I know is that we need the constitution more than ever right now. We need some kind of rules, that hopefully can be enforced, to hold our country together. We also need a government that will uphold these rules.
Any lame spewing from the right makes me want to puke! All fake news, lies and deceit coming from cowards who are obstructing justice for WE THE PEOPLE! How do they sleep at night, how do they get through life, knowing ??.
The last Republican/conservative president said the constitution was ‘just a piece of paper’.
Republican/conservatives only support that which enriches themselves, and only as long as it does enrich them. Like our military, Republican/conservatives are big supporters when they feel threatened, and then those who served are discarded like pariah when the threat is gone. It must be disgusting to get up every morning and look at a conservative face in the mirror.
Is there some actual correlation between the climate issue and Trump’s position that impacts the Constitution?
Please reply with any measures or actions taken by the Administration in re CO2 or warming that are a violation of the Constitution.
Please do not dive into the warming debate itself. The cartoon appears to make a direct correlation between increased CO2 and a violation of the Constitution.
Andy is always happy to misinterpret something to gin up a point he thinks proves something.
Somehow he ignores that Trump has a fondness for promoting the use of fossil fuels and ignoring science while expounding that global warming is a Chinese hoax. So Toles makes a joke about Trump accepting some clown’s word that the Constitution is a “fossil.” We’ve all seen that Trump is not a science or math whiz (he flushed that one down his Don John). Plus he wants to rule as if the Constitution and its amendments do not exist. (That third tem thing, for example) They are not in his playbooks from the mob and Roy Cohn. So, in Toles’ cartoon, he wants to burn the Constitution in a fossil fuel burner, just as he has indicated that he wants to burn every hope for being a part of the solutions for global warming.
It’s not hard to see Tole’s point, but it doesn’t suit Andy to see things in a rational light. Instead he makes an imaginary connection. Like he imagines that Global Warming is all a hoax to send US wealth to other countries. (He has admitted that.) Pay no attention to the folks framing false arguments.
The maximally efficient way of warning people of Andy’s technique is to NOT bury a reply in his threads. Which warning is for others, not for Andy, because he will not change. So why would I bury my warning?
And what does he do? Make cheap insults. Just go through his profile and see how he denigrates others he does not agree with. And he wonders why he gets vanished?
Poor little Andy. (I said that because that’s the format he uses to denigrate my comments.) He is heavy into sophistry combined with insult (see the post immediately above Baslim’s). Sorry, Andy, but distort and deflect doesn’t work with people who think for themselves.

Don’t know who first said it, but nowadays people can more easily imagine the end of the world than they can imagine the end of capitalism.

Chutzpah – {a rhyme}
“The Constitution’s not needed,”
his sycophants have conceded, -
- so the prez proceeds
to do his bad deeds
with the document’s constraints unheeded.
…
The concept, “the Rule of Law”
sticks in The Donald’s craw.
“Rules are for YOU, not for ME; -
- from shackles and scruples I’m free,”
he says in his ego’s [chutzpah] chutzpaw.

In the end, burning the Constitution is probably the most respectful way, considering how he’s abused it so far.

To Bush, the Constitution was “a piece of paper.” To Trump, the Constitution is a "phony. Both Republicans, the “Rule of Law” party. /s
