If I were a cat, I wish that the people would adopt me. I’m older, slightly arthritic, kinda cranky, but I have a good heart and I would be a purrbox.

Elvis uses email? I would have thought he distributes hard copies of carefully typed memos.♥

Elvis in the last panel reminds me very much of Someone.

My husband and I decided to only adopt older animals no one wanted from now on. Enter Mum’s new kitten, Sheba. At 6 months old, a lot of people thought she was too old to adopt! WTF?!

We have her. She is a priceless little being. Little? Her back feet are bigger than our full-grown Pepperpot’s! I cannot wait to see how big this girl gets. Her tail is so long that she lays it along her back a lot, she eats like a horse, and has the loudest motor I’ve ever heard! LOL!

I don’t want to see Beatrix leave! And the boys need an intern!

I would most certainly adopt Beatrix if I could. She is so kind and helpful.

Aw, look at that happy kitten smile. Beatrix certainly has a zest for life.

She’s a happy, healthy kitten who loves to color-code office supplies and keeps emergency supplies of soothing tea. Of course someone will snatch her up.

And after he eats the bedroom curtains, he will hork them up on the floor right in the path that bare People feet will traverse. Hork, hork, hork.

I love how Beatrix bounces over Georgia Dunn’s signature.

Do Kittens ever really stay still? Based upon personal observations, the answer is no. Constant motion and abundant energy are ever present.

The dog arc is over for a bit, but late last night we had the opposite situation. Here the boys were alarmed by the dog. Last evening I called our dogs for their last outside visit before bed. One came but one did not. Upon investigation I found the younger dog at the foot of the stairs to the tv room and the two cats on the stairs facing the dog. Dog would not come up past the cats…I had to shoo one cat away and grab the other before the dog would come up. Of course I was laughing so hard it was a struggle to hold on the a squirmy cat but at last we got the nightly routine finished and everyone tucked in for the night.

Humans think they invented “Parkouring”, but cat slaves know cats invented it.

Love Elvis butting in in the last panel to demand breakfast at 5AM; also loving Beatrix’s boundless energy and good humour.

Slightly off topic, Yum Yum has developed a new quirk. A couple of months ago, I bought some “lucky bamboo” and keep in a glass with water. She now spurns her water dish and drinks only from this glass, which means I have to top it off with fresh water every day.

Beatrix is leaving!!! :-(

My Finlay was rescued from a auto repair shop, always called him my junkyard cat. I donated a copy of Georgia’s shelter cats special report to our local shelter. Within 2 weeks we had two senior cats and a FIV+ cat adopted. I’m not saying there was a connection, but I really wish we had a copy that was about twice as large and easier to read……

Sweetheart didn’t eat her breakfast this morning.

After going out and doing her thing, she came back in, sniffed at her dish, and went back to bed.

Worrisome. :(

Yaaaah! I just found out from an ad that our favorite writer will be at the American Library Association’s Annual Conference doing signings on June 22. (I wish my library would pay for me to travel.)

If you don’t want to know his name don’t read the comments, though if you read these comments you probably have already seen his name pop up. There are three pictures of him.

Four of my original 5 came in pairs. Miscreant I got from a breeder and when we moved he needed a friend because Dually came with me and stayed at granda’s house while I was at work. I was going to adopt an older female from the pound but a friend had 2 females that ended up living in her bathroom because her male hated them. I said bring them to me. Six months after that the 2 Bengals that Miscreant grew up with were going to be put to sleep because the owner didn’t want to find them a new home. I said bring them to me. One of the Bengals lived his finals days with me as will the rest of these kitties. I love them all and can’t imagine life without them.

all of our fur children are easy to love, imo….but when I speak of their exploits to others, they get a little furrow between their brows and say, “isn’t that annoying?”..and then I get a little furrow between my brows, cuz no, not when you love them

Those are the best kind.

On the breakfast menu today: Kibble with a side of drapery. Would you like a side of plant with that?

Off topic: MrrCavity has finally been released “to the wild.” He disappeared for a few days, but this morning showed up where we put food for the local strays in hopes of catching them for spay ’n stay or adoption. He was with us for over a month, first for the clip and chip, then for dental work. Shame he was not adoptable.

We currently have our sights on two or three other ferals. One is a young tom who may be adoptable, but is very skittish. Unfortunately, Waffle doesn’t get the idea, being a “cat of very small brain,” though he was a rescue himself.

Elvis is sweet, cute, and adorable. A warm fuzzy bundle of love.

Quick Update.

Trixie is exhibiting symptoms of being a cat. A vaguely domestic cat.

She is spending large amounts of time in plain sight, lounging in the living room or kitchen when one of us is present. She still doesn’t want to be touched but she seems to seek out the room we happen to occupy.

And she is…gasp…playing. She has taken to killing and then batting around the little fur mice with the leather tails. Even 2 weeks ago she couldn’t be bothered with such a mundane activity. Leave that to the brainwashed indoor cats.

These days she is getting along with (tolerating) the other cats, attacking her own tail on an as needed basis, and playing with toys.
