I admire his imagination

Reality sucks doesn’t Calvin. Good thing you have your imagination and Hobbes to help get you through the tough days.

Used to be just an occasional Calvin, now it’s drones that pilots have to watch for.

And this is why he wanted the beanie so bad. He thinks it can make him fly.

I remember buying the model set for the phaser, communicator and tricorder from Star Trek. I was so sure I purchased the set that would work, I was so let down when I was able to finally assemble them and find out it was only cheap plastic and looked nothing like the ones on TV.

Never noticed it before; Calvin’s head is one third of the size of his body. Must’ve been a real treat for Mom.

“Did you learn anything?” “No, that’s why it was a blast!”

Calvin is going to learn a valuable life lesson about advertising when it finally arrives and completely fails to live up to his expectations: that he should have gotten the more expensive model. (tongue firmly in cheek)

“Oh, by the way, here’s my note from Miss Wormwood for you… something about not paying attention…”

Cue the Bill Conti “Gonna Fly Now” soundtrack.

The first clue that he has the wrong idea about propeller beanies.

Anticipation is better than realization.

I think Calvin’s expectations might be a tad bit elevated

I love Bill’s interpretation of the beanies prop sound!

He’s just assuming that the beanie will propel him to great heights. Once he finds out the propeller doesn’t work he’ll toss it in the trash.

I mentioned Calvin would be needing a chin strap…

I have a bad feeling about this expected beanie. If he thinks he will be able to fly with it, he’s gonna be sadly mistaken.

He’s going to be sorely disappointed.

I’d be asking for specifics, if I was his mom. :P
