    Trump’s still in office and Republicans control the Senate and Supreme Court. Sorry.

    I resolve not to make any New Year’s resolutions.

    (You should see my bucket list. The only item on it so far is “check out the price of buckets”.)

    I’m reasonably certain that there hasn’t been a year in human history (or prehistory) when bad things weren’t happening.

    Bad things have always happened in the world regardless of who seems to be in control of American politics. If you want a better world, make yourself a better person.

    Worry isn’t about bad things happening, it’s about thinking about the bad things that might happen.

    For this to work, Pig’s going to need a memory wipe, even if the world becomes all sunny days with rainbows and unicorns.

    Anonymous:The quality of this strip has gone down hill for quite a while now. Your depression is getting the best of you. To relieve that, make funny and give all we poor souls a good laugh. You used to do hilarious strips: continuing story lines (no more), the Crocs (the best and funniest – no more),Jeff the cyclist (outrageous-no more). I could go on…….Try to retrieve your funny bone, for yourself and the readers.

    Don’t worry about the things you have no control over, stop watching the dang national and international news, and do something good for those around you. You’ll be much happier.

    There Will Come Soft Rains

    Sara Teasdale, 1884 – 1933

    (War Time)

    There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,

    And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

    And frogs in the pools singing at night,

    And wild plum trees in tremulous white,

    Robins will wear their feathery fire

    Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

    And not one will know of the war, not one

    Will care at last when it is done.

    Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree

    If mankind perished utterly;

    And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,

    Would scarcely know that we were gone.

    86 comments! (87 when I post this.) I think that’s a new record!Also, 44 replies to one comment, but I’m afraid that won’t beat the great Garfield reply fiasco of 2004. (426 replies to one comment.)
