Sure, Jack dates a lot of girls, Luann. Recently, he took one to a nice restaurant, then took you to a dog park. Just who was that girl? Could it be Tiffany … ?

The peanut gallery is getting restless. The strip is in a “Casey at the Bat” situation and the fans want Tiffany in there. She doesn’t strike out very often and the boys love to see her in the game.

This is a situation where ignoring and silence is more effective. Admit it, she was flirting yesterday. And why does Luann care if Tiffany tries to get Jack’s eye?

It seems Luann isn’t ready yet to admit certain things.

Luann is going “Gunther” about Jack. She has much to say about nothing.

It’s oblivious! Luann is still traumatized by how Quill has turned out to be an egoist. So she denies her feeling for Jack. But everyone who knows her understands the truth.

WAY too much about nada here.And I like how Tara’s ears actually have some detail in the inner part of them.The other characters need some of that too,imo.

Wow! A “non-snarky” voice of reason in Lu’s life. Tara, you go girl! I hope you and her go far, friendship wise. You both compliment each other.

Not looking for another romance? Trying to get a boyfriend was pretty much all that Luann did throughout high school, so this is hard to believe. Also, about that “bad breakup” – remember that she was the one who broke up with him, as she has acknowledged.

Well! Greg has just provided us with the motivation for Luann’ reticence regarding becoming closer with Jack. Breakup fever!

Then Luann screams, “NO COLLUSION!”.

The way for Tara to end this tête-à-tête would be for Tara to casually say “Oh. So would it be OK if I took a run at him?”

keep making excuses Luann ….. maybe you’ll believe them yourself!

Even though I realize this is all happening in the span of about half an hour thus far, I tend to feel the point is being driven home a bit over abundantly. We get it that Luann “likes” Jack but is not ready to admit it yet.

I admit the Tara rendering of the “big old Jack & romance question” has been the most entertaining of the three variants we have had thus far (Tiffany’s week tended to feel the most annoying, and Bernice’s week sort of “in-between” to me.), but the story line is feeling a bit stagnant to me at this point.

Or maybe it is just me feeling like an ornery old bull this morning. I don’t know.

What does the symbol on his shirt stand for?

For either sex, what’s more irritating than a “friend” smugly informing you you have an infatuation with someone else, especially if you don’t.

At least you can use it as a cue to find new friends.

Luann actually comes out of this looking good, due to Starr’s obnoxiousness. To create something or someone even more annoying than Luann’s passive-aggressive snide mutterings takes some effort.

The word she should have used was ‘justifying’ not ‘explaining’.

Wasn’t her last BF Quill? That was NOT a bad break up at all. They decided they had different priorities and parted ways in a civil manner. There was no yelling, hitting or throwing things. Some break ups are bad, theirs was not. Most break ups are emotionally painful, but not violent.

Luann’s “last” boyfriend (aka, ONLY Boyfriend) has existed outside Luann Time so long that he and his wife are retired and currently in an assisted living community in Boca Raton. Good news for you, Tara: Luann’s into girls. Make your move.

Can’t believe I forgot to post something when I got up really early and I was wiped out last night before I went to bed. So after all that and reading the comments so far I really have nothing to add other than what I already said, which is I think Tara is right on point. I know some people are bringing up Tiffany, and with this strip anything is possible, but it would make no sense to me for Tiffany to be part of the romantic possibility, if there is one, between Luann and Jack. Personally I hope it happens because I think he is a real guy, who would hit a number of buttons (now, now, this is a family strip, remember) for Luann, and while he, I think anyway, really likes Luann a lot. He might actually be shy to tell her because he really likes her, even though he dates. So what? If this is someone special in his mind it might make sense. Sorry I guess I did add something. So late to comment, nobody will notice it, so if it goes south at least I won’t have to eat crow.

Sure are a lot of Luann haters here. Yet they still keep coming back. If all that interests them is couples getting together in more ways than inside a supply cabinet, why aren’t they just hanging out at 9 Chickweed?

Hmmm…haven’t posted in a while. So, I can kind of see this. Experience has taught me that people often DON’T know their own hearts. However, I have a problem with making Tiffany back into the shallow foil for Luann. Good move, giving her a better outlook on her new figure. Bad move, erasing from her character all she learned in the past story arc….better move, not making Jack so obtuse that he couldn’t see through Tiffany, but her comeback just didn’t ring true.
