Lupin’s face is hilarious in that fourth-to-last panel. That’s totally a “Who, me?” face.

How does he even know the Man is screaming? Through vibrations?

The Man is looking a little wild-eyed in panel 7. Bless his heart that he thinks pointing out what Lupin shouldn’t touch will really make any difference.

I love the 3rd touchy toe pannel. My own cat uses 1 single toe to poke me awake for breakfast!

And I have to wonder… Has the Man, since this situation first presented itself, finally gotten around to putting said button where Lupin can’t get at it? Like inside a steel box with a padlock on it?

Of course Lupin’s fang in panel three doesn’t bode well. But I adore Lupin’s arabesque – and grin – in panel eight.

Smokey used to do that when she was a kitten. Our computer desk is a really old one, like almost 30 years old. One of those that had a space for the monitor and the computer itself on the top, a pull out shelf for the keyboard below that with a shelf/lid that you raise and lower when you pull out or put away the keyboard, then a second pull out shelf for a dot matrix printer, then a stationary shelf for the printer paper box, then four built in casters just below that with plenty of room to slide your feet under the bottom most shelf. OR slide a power strip underneath the desk to stop a kitten from turning off everything on you. That’s what we ended up having to do with Smokey. By the time the kittens came along we had a second power strip for other equipment, including the wireless router for our laptops and such. Really wished we had found a place to put that out of their reach while they were still kittens as it got frustrating to be in a different room and suddenly loose the net on my lap top and not know why until I checked to see if the power strip was turned on.

I wondered when we were going to see this one, lol! Lupin’s look of innocence when the Man tells him not to touch the power strip’s button, and then his look of utter hilarity when he pushes the button and makes the Man scream has me doubled over in stitches. I’ll bet that’s a video game the Man is working on. :-)

One of my favourite BCN reports, Lupin’s facial expressions are priceless :) I keep my power bar well up off the floor precisely because of kitty feet stepping on the button. Yesterday the phone started buzzing while I was watching the TV, turns out one of the boys stood on the “talk” button while chasing a fly and activated the line.

Cats are quick to learn about buttons. I lived in an apartment once that had a balcony patio. One evening shortly after moving in we watched Fafnir, not much more than a kitten, dash across the floor, up on a chair and flip the wall switch to turn on the outside light so she could watch squirrels at the bird feeder. Didn’t turn it off when she was done, though.

This is so familiar… But Pussya did this in another way: she’s pisses on this sockets. And on computer with screen too… BUT! It was time when my computer wasn’t working at all, and when Pussya pissed exactly to the holes, computer finally starts to turning on!Murka only bites mouse and controller of my xbox….. But I think, in the future she will be like Pussya)

Been there, done that! A while back I was at my mom’s while mom was cat-sitting for my sis. Mom is…shall we say…"technology challenged"? & she freaked out when the internet suddenly went out while she was checking her email. She was about to call my stepbro who’s a computer geek but I said wait a minute & crawled under the desk to check things out. Sure enough, Zoe had stepped on the power strip button & turned off the modem…

I just went back and checked the original version of this strip, and indeed, the panels with the Man shouting weren’t drawn with borders like this. I’m in awe of completely new, very clever way to depict Lupin’s deaf perception of the Man shouting!

Meav loves the keyboard and has taught me that the keyboard can do things that I had no idea it could do and only a reboot could fix it. I got smart and mounted the keyboard under the desk on a sliding tray so no keyboard for her anymore. Now she gets in front of the monitor sheds as much as kittily possible on it and then plops onto my chest and slides down onto the desktop for daily belly rubs. Some days I get the last laugh when I’m not quite close enough to the desk and she does her back flop and catches air for a second before I catch her. Those kitty eyes get bigger than her head for a second or two before the purring commences.

Just a couple of ideas: Why not duct tape the power bar to the underside of the desk?

If the desk has drawers, a littlehole can be cut out of the back, with the cord fed through from the inside. You can open the drawer & turn things on.

Or, if you have a computer room, like Hubby, forbid entrance to the furbaby (ies). He can sometimes leave the door open now, & Dustball gives it WIDE berth!

    Good luck!!! >^.,.^<

I had a mighty huntress cat named Susie, who killed a mouse her first day here. My mouse, or why I had a wireless one for as long as she lived with us. We were forever having to step over small woodland creatures (deceased) on our front step, for which we loudly praised her, if only so she wouldn’t bring them in. (Alas, she caught a car, or it caught her, because she liked running out to the street and then looking…).

This is my favorite non-arc strip. When it came out originally, in vertical format, I could only see the first panel when I went to the website. I knew immediately what it meant and almost fell of the couch laughing. I was not disappointed by the rest of the panels either! Now Lupin knows that he has found a wonderful way to get the Man’s attention whenever he wants to.

I’m sure that the Man saves his work often and never loses anything due to “power failures.” (More than once I’ve been playing a game and either had the power go out unexpectedly or had the game crash. Then, of course, I think “Great, how long has it been since I saved a game?” Usually it was long enough that I decide to come back to it later. Like tomorrow. Or next week).

When I had my USB on the floor I used a crate to keep the cats off of it. I have a new one now and it sits on my desk, out of the way of kitty toes. My desk is elevated about 3" and that lets the power strips slide under and away from kitty toes.

Jasper liked to sit next to the printer and watch the ink carriage go back and forth. He looked as if he were watching a tennis match. Of course, he felt it was his duty to catch the pages as they came out of the printer.
