Trust me child, there IS drama.

There will be drama because Frank is looking forward to a drama-free year.

Someone is in denial…..

Appropriate drama on several regards, but with people often telling her that she over-reacts will Luann realize that this time she is completely correct?

A past tense present…. Has Les lit the Fuse?…. AC/Fusey…. Orrrrr…….Sitting under the “Will you?” tree!

How can somebody so worldly-wise in other things be so naive? Maybe having zero experience with men in courtship-mode? Scarier and scarier!

I see that we can add “naive” to the list of Pru’s traits. You’d think she’d be more street smart.

So many potential threads here. Some gay women get sexually involved with men on occasion – some have even wound up getting married to a guy. However in this situation – it just seems like Pru wants to have her cake and eat it too.

How can she be so blind? Luann went to have Elwood’s engagement ring appraised. She and Pru should go to the mall and do the same with the necklace.

Oh there’s gonna be some, “drama” that is.

Don’t forget, we in the readers knows that Les conned that money from people.

I’m thinking that Pru likes the attention and it’s over riding her gay sense.

Whatever happened to IamJayBlue? I haven’t been able to keep up on the computer, just my cell, so I couldn’t read the comments. I miss the funny song lyrics.

Some Folks here say Les’s goal is romance. I say he’s setting poor Pru up. So at the end of the day, it ain’t gonna matter whether she’s or not….,

The drama will come when we find out where Les got all that money.

On the 24th Les purposely misleads Pru into thinking that he spent just a couple of dollars above the $20 limit.  On the 26th he mntions tomhis uncle that everyone is in his business.

To me this sounds from the second that Leslie felt he had a need to hide money.  Misleading Pru into thinking the piece was costume jewelry also sounds like that.

Now, it may be that Les is trying to make his own kind of restitution, but he already knows that he can steal from Pru and from the program so he might view them as a hiding place to steal from again if he decides to skip town.

Of course, if the money for the children’s program that is dear to Pru’s heart is above petty cash level it would be banked, but the amount is unlikely to meet the minimal amount some banks require.  So, where will the necklace and money be?  At the Fuse?  In the Degroot’s house?  Will Les commit B and E at their home?  Will someone be home?  Will Puddles try to protect the home?

Others will have other guesses.  These are mine.

If this were real life I wouldn’t predict this story line ending in a good place. At worst it might end with Les having to attend anger management classes, probably taught by Dirk to create tension between the newlyweds.

She’s not naive. She figures why tell him when he’s giving out the goodies. She’s not the first woman to do that, straight or gay. Men do it too. Being honest isn’t “making drama.”

I can just hear Les singing forlornly; “Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you told me you’re gay…” ♪ ♫

Do we have any idea how old Pru is? (She looks much older than the rest of the young people.) As Les was in high school with Luann he can’t be any older than 19 (unless he was held back). I’d be a bit uncomfortable if a man that young was buying me jewelry, even if I wasn’t sure how much it really cost.

It’s going to be annoying if Les feels led on, and I hate the thought that Pru will be ‘blamed’ for his assumption, sigh

What it’s impossible to think maybe Les is gay too? Half his problems might be symptoms of his not being able to accept himself as he is.

What could go wrong?

Drama in this strip is low key when it exists at all. It should really avoid having its characters use the word

I am really waiting for the time when they discover WHERE he really got the money. I wonder if the Police will be involved?

Did Pru catch Lu’s cluelessness, or is she on the take as well as Les?

Why would a man give such an expensive gift to a woman if he didn’t have an interest in her? You better tell him the truth Pru, and give that necklace back.

Isn’t anyone else wondering why Pru is in Luanne’s bedroom? Why is she even in the Degroot house? Or did I miss something and Luann recently “switched teams”.

There will be plenty of drama when Les learns the ugly truth.

Oh, this is really getting good! I’d like to see Leslie get his ass kicked by love. So much for Mr Tough Guy! But Pru, though .. For a New York girl, she seems to be pretty naive on courtship rituals. Even if she IS gay, she should see it coming .. IMHO.

If being gay is a genetic thing, then maybe Pru doesn’t have the “sensors” to recognize the chemistry being radiated by Les. Most lesbians send out an unmistakable negative vibe when coming in contact with men. Beware, guys, what you see is what you get. Pru, however, is not a hostile person, so straight or gay, she simply likes people.

I wasn’t terribly fond of Pru, when she first joined the strip (She seemed kind of pushy, wanting to control everything, such as the Fuse and Luann’s NY trip), but, she has begun to grow on me.

Les is gonna be in for a hard fall…

For the guys… yeah… there is gonna be drama. The girls know Luanne is right on this one. This will be bad.

A necklace of that size, costing only $370, is likely either sterling silver or very nice costume jewelry. These days, I think it would it would even be hard to find a large sterling silver pendant with that much handwork (looking at the beads) for that price. But “costume” doesn’t necessarily mean “cheap,” – it just means the piece wasn’t made with real precious metals or precious stones.

I don’t think Pru is naïve as some have said. I think she’s an open person who takes people and things at face value. The gift exchange was not meant to be serious or to have strings attached, and she likes the necklace. But hopefully Luann and others will fill her in on Les or she will find out on her own and adjust accordingly. Pru does have a point in that Luann IS the drama queen compared to others.

I thought Pru had more “street smarts” than this!

Because a normal lesbian would have said, “Sorry, I can’t take this gift as your girlfriend, I’m a lesbian.” In Luannverse, it’s, “…I’ll accept the gift now and tell him later.”

Actually, some people act obnoxious making unwanted advances on women to cover the very fact that they really want men.

Les collected a lot of money for a “charitable” reason and then used that to purchase her neckace and give her cash for the future acting and entertainment kids. No good can come from this..
