Two females x 14 generations (at 4 generations per century = 350 years) resulting in millions of people?I guess the Colvard Institute is one of those think tanks where they’ll make up any statistic you want to pay for.Sort of “Lies R Us.”

Night-Gaunt49 said, a few hours ago@Neil WickYou must recall that they scuttled their city on Luna, so where are they then? Mars? Another part of Luna? Or on Earth? I’d say Earth

Earth is not the first thing that comes to mind for me. Both Mars and another part of the Moon seem more likely to me. Other possibilities include some other planets or they could just be on a Space Coupe. I have to admit that Earth could be a possibility, it just doesn’t seem likely to me. I’ve been wrong before.

Oh, and one more thing to throw into the mix. How long will they live? Moonmaid, or was it the Govenor anyway, one of them stated back in the 60’s that the Lunarians live a lot longer than Humans. It is conceivable that Honeymoon and Mysta may still be around to see all 14 generations.

After 14 generations, the non-lunarian population will also have grown. The lunarians will still be a minority, assuming an exponential growth model, which is hardly likely to hold after 280 years.

But there are those who wear flag pins simply because they love America and are very patriotic. Such people also fly the American flag whenever possible, and often have bumper stickers bearing that emblem as well.

Assuming a similar number of offspring per generation as in the earth community, the fraction of people who will be lunarians will be the same after 14 generations. i.e. 2 per 7 billion.

had to think for a second who the two lunarians are… at first I thought it had something to do with the ones we saw at moon maid’s gravesite, but then it dawned on me that they were talking about Honeymoon and Frankenmindy.

BTW, don’t know if anyone mentioned this before or not but… is it just ME or does this woman look an awful lot like Big Mama who helped out Jerome Trohs?!?!

It’s a major stretch…if the descendants of both Mysta and Honey tripled each generation for 14 generations, that would be 2*(3 to the 14th power), which is over 9.5 million. However, that assumes each Lunerian married a Terran and had three children that each had the Lunerian gene dominant in them and no Lunerian dies before having children, and so much else…

Over a million in 14 generations? Maybe if they have Kennedy sized families. Still it seems to be a bunch of fuzzy math.

Bellowthon imagines a day when “her kind” may not constitute the majority. This does not sit well with her. What might her bill call for, exactly? Sterilization? Incarceration? The bill does not sit well with Tracy. Seems putting on her flag pin is easier than brushing up on the Constitution.

Oh, no! Those Lunarians are going to adulterate our precious bodily fluids!! Our purity of essence is in danger!

@Pequod: remember that around the turn of the last century, the pseudo-science of “eugenics” was taken seriously by politicians, and ultimately several thousand people (nearly all of them poor “trash” people, of course) were forcibly sterilized to “improve the breed.”

It will be interesting to see how this Colvard (Columbia & Harvard?) Institute imagines 2 females to breed, especially since one of them is a FAKE and the other a half-breed.

Honeymoon is Junior’s biological daughter from his marriage to Moon Maid, and therefore half-human, and Mysta-2 is an altered human who, presumably, wouldn’t pass on her acquired Lunarian characteristics to any children.Since there are no Lunarian males on Earth, Honeymoon’s Lunarian genes would be further diluted by the human genes of her necessarily-human future mate, resulting in children who were only 1/4 Lunarian. Lunarian genes would have to be pretty powerful to remain dominant over multiple generations springing from only one individual. Honeymoon’s theoretical grandchildren would be fairly unlikely to have Lunarian abilities.

Representative Bellowthon (or, as I think of her, Congressthing Blowhard) is very much in the progressive, eugenicist mode of racism. Can’t let those nasty, different Lunarians dilute our superior, enlightened, smarter species.Smug. Arrogant. Self-assured. Superior and born to rule. The flag lapel pin is there just to delude the ignorant boob masses who, unfortunately, were mistakenly given the vote. Heil, Bellowthon!

Ms. Bellowthon will build a wall between the Earth and the Moon and force the Lunarians to pay for it. (Google the video of a presidential debate between Lex Luthor and Donald Trump—Clark Kent has a moment saying, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but please vote Luthor.”
