Is nuclear fallout what caused Paris Goat to lose his beard in the early days of the comic?

Tbh it is actually a nice backdrop for it – except ofc for all the other people appearing in the strip.

Aren’t pearls round stones that come from mollusks?

Tons more than you’ll ever have, Rat. Since no one wanted to buy your Dickie the Cockroach treasurie, Rat, you should have taken the hint.

Does Neighbor Bob live in the second pile of ruble down the street?

    .

Seriously though, how do you explain the Crocs’ house?

Is that supposed to be broccoli in the first frame?

Just ONE diner…with a setting for TWO?

Even the TV is a side-view. I bet it’s not even a TV.

That last frame just shows an a-hole with 2 butt cheeks. How hard can THAT be to draw?

why is it that characters that made a comic strip enjoyable to read eventually get shoved aside for the sake of ease? Is it laziness or burn out?

Neighbor Bob occasionally wanders over from the nuclear wasteland.

“Ankh-Morpork! Pearl of cities! This is not a completely accurate description, of course — it was not round and shiny — but even its worst enemies would agree that if you had to liken Ankh-Morpork to anything, then it might as well be a piece of rubbish covered with the diseased secretions of a dying mollusc.”

This is always the one strip that can make me laugh out loud!!! I read it every day and never fail to wonder how he comes up with these things. Just Rat, Pig, and Goat is all he needs to use to show the idiosyncrasies of the world.

Your artistic skills have advanced dramatically since the early, minimalist days of “Pearls”, Pastis. You ain’t no Hal Foster, though.

There are no secrets around here, Cartoon-Boy. Even Goat and Rat know the truth; but

    you can’t handle the truth!

    Hence, this charming nuclear myth….
