Reminds me of the time, one of the marketing fellows pulled into the lot the same time I did. As we were walking to the building, he had a bald head (with a fringe around it) and a bird flew over and nailed the top of his head. I had to contain my laughter but did tell him it would be easy to clean off as he had no hair on top to worry about (which he didn’t appreciate either). That is a true story.

It’s funnier if you have the sound on your comics page switched on. The tune he’s whistling in the first panel is “Show Me the Way to Go Home, I’m Tired and I Guano Go to Bed.”

All that guano from that tiny bat?

‘What shat that bat?’ is an unpublished Dr. Seuss book.

A bat in the hand is safer than one overhead.

That last panel reminds me of a poster I have in my classroom: “Sometimes you’re the pigeon, sometimes you’re the statue.”

Lio, that’s the rare Foo Bat — and it would be very bad luck to wash its “deposit” off!

You know what they say. “If the Foo $#its, wear it!”
