A feast to remember.

Liz, you’ve been dating Jon for years now, and you really have to ask why Garfield is ordering a pizza when Jon is cooking Thanksgiving dinner all by himself?

And the fire extinguisher caught on fire too!

There is a scene running through my head. The papa is trying to cook Thanksgiving dinner for his son. If you haven’t seen it… it is a good ‘starting of the season’ movie – “The Santa Clause” (1994). The best part of his attempt to cook the meal… going back for a second time with the fire extinguisher!

Yesterday my wife was steaming beets. Left the pot on the stove too long. The water completely boiled away and the residue caught fire. She was able to rescue the beets. The beet salad had a nice smokey flavour to it.

Jon’s job description: … occupational hazard and accident proned.

Well, there goes thanksgiving day … thanks a lot Jon.

Where’s Grandma when you need her?

It’s a happy scene, even the smoke alarms are cheering him on….

I suspect Jon shouldn’t try deep frying the Turkey

Oh that’s nothing. Last year the turkey beat up Jon and put him in the oven.

Garfield is always prepared

Pizza is what the Great Turkey decreed anyway.

The yams are on fire? :-o

Liz wouldn’t have a pepperoni pizza, with or without olives. She’s a vegetarian! (So no turkey either)

Okay so is Jim Davis a General Hospital fan? Is he a secret Quartermaine family member? ;-)

Garfield is like a Boy Scout; he is prepared!

i was making a new dish last night, and sliced my finger. not bad but the main index finger. “so honey, how about take out?”

Garfield anticipated that something like this was going to happen. Just call Grandma over to help with the meal again like in the Thanksgiving special.

I’d rather have the burnt yams than black olives

Yeah, I’ll take an extra large cheese pizza.

The fact that Jon is a bad cook is a well established character trait, it was even the subject of several episodes of the cartoon from the early 90’s.

I use a slow cooker for my turkey. I start cooking it around midnight. It’s done by noon.

And that’s why Pizza Places are open on Thanksgiving.

Olives? Nope.

IT IS ACTUALLY MY BIRTHDAY TODAY (usually when you see a user announce that their birthday is today, you wish that user a happy birthday)

Pizza is both lasagna’s sibling and a perfect alternative to a turkey on Thanksgiving IMO. #backupplan :)

Sorry, no olives. I prefer an S&M (sausage & mushrooms) pizza.

Garfield is good at predicting Jon’s failures.

The big question is, if Jon’s Mum can make meals for him, WHY can’t Liz ?

I’ve not seen a Garfield Comic, where Liz has stepped in, to help Jon out …
