This is actually how they talk in my town. Drump and AR15 flags off the porches, and on the bed of their monster trucks. Except they have no idea what and where Harvard actually is. Graduating High School is considered the ultimate educational challenge,.. and not many make it.
People love to hate Harvard. Harvard is very good, but I would say that there are at least half a dozen colleges as good as Harvard. I was an undergraduate at Cornell, which in my opinion was a better undergraduate school than Harvard, at least back in those days. I did graduate work at Harvard, and I was happy there. But I would probably have been just as happy at any of a half dozen other excellent grad schools. The Harvard undergrad program (in my time, anyway) was a rich kids’ school, and I was not a rich kid. It may be different now. The graduate programs were different — admission was just based on merit, you didn’t have to be rich.
I’m starting to think that parodying racism, homophobia and antisemitism is more offensive than funny. Has this given panel us any new insight into the bigot’s mind, or is it just a sad caricature?
Sometimes Danziger’s caricatures make me cringe. Puts weight behind the cries of elitism from the other side. Now, Trump. You can make fun of Trump all day. He asked for it.
It isn’t the money, it’s the attitudes and the deliberate refusal to learn. Yes, there is “trailer trash” but there is also mansion trash and, especially, Mar-a-Lago trash.
Ethnic stereotyping at its most childish and vulgar. Danziger should try getting out of his northeast cocoon some time and try visiting the real south. He probably thinks that “The Beverly Hillbillies” was a documentary series.
I grew up in a rural area and I am offended by an element in this cartoon. We would never have allowed the cat on the table. That thing’s paws have been digging in a litter box full of you-know-what. The dog, however…
The picture of George Wallace would be valid if not for the fact that after the assination attempt on him he recanted his bigotry and even admitted that his stance on white supremacy was wrong.
Somebody help me out here. I’m a political progressive who usually finds Danziger right up my alley, but all I’m seeing in todays’s cartoon is an offensive stereotype of “white trash” Southerners. Is there some nuance I’m missing? Because I’m as turned off by cartoons that lazily appeal to the prejudices of liberals as I am by those that lazily appeal to the prejudices of conservatives.

Yikes!
I’d have been a better fit at Harvard. Mom wanted me close, so a parochial college it was.

Jeff Danziger: Great comedic sense, interesting draftsman, classic Democrat (never misses a chance to slander and denigrate the working class).

Pretty hard to debunk this.

Here’s your funfact… Harvard endowment gets 95% of it’s money from royalties on t-shirts and sweats.
You know it’s true. You saw it on the internet.

Obviously GoComics does not censure cartoon content. There are some words in there that would get us banned for life.
Still, an accurate family discussion around many Southern kitchen tables.

On one level I’m deeply offended by some of their language, but then the Play-Germania got me to ROFL.

Teaching true history to our young ones would help with the “confusion” over the change parties went thru after Brown v Board of Education.

People like this don’t go to college. Like Jethro Bodine, they don’t gradiated clean through the sixth grade. That’s enough book learnin’.

I love how Mr. Danziger does not address the plagiarism or the inability to condemn a genocide.
