My favourite little joy used to be popping the paper seal on a jar of instant coffee, etc. with a spoon. The sound it made was so satisfying! Then they started sealing those jars with plastic, which made no sound. Maybe now plastic has fallen from favor they’ll go back to paper.
1. Hobbes reads them first while Calvin is at shool.2. He never had a dog (although His dad wanted one instead of Calvin)3. He has NO friends and gets no BILLS!4. Hobbes eats all the marshmallows while Calvin waits for the chocolate to cool.5. Keep dreaming kid…or, try watching the Karate Kid..
Every underdog’s dream – getting even. Most don’t realize, some times until much later, that outworking and outstudying the Moe’s succeeds where the short-lived pride that might come from attempts at physical retaliation will not.
When I was a kid my sister, who was much older than me, got the idea to have me right down 5 things I liked and 5 things I didn’t like every summer for a few years. I forgot all about it until she brought out the papers about 10 years ago and I read them. I wonder what I was thinking about that made me chose those things back then? I don’t remember liking scrumdillicious bar so much or disliking the little black haired girl so much.
I completely agree with all 5 statements. Especially number 1. Remember, a new comic book doesn’t have to be new, it just means you’ve never read it before.

I had to tell myself doing a lot worse than 5 wasn’t worth it, so the scum I went to school graduated with bodies intact.

The fifth one really isn’t worth the retaliation. You know there will be some.
