Good heavens: for once, I wholeheartedly agree with JJ. (That being said, no, her Wikipedia entry doesn’t use the term. Thank God.)

yike..even Duke is more likeable than J.J…the only Doonesbury character with absolutely NO redeeming features..except possibly contributing to the birth of the delightful Alex..i guess this is where G.B. puts his poison..even Trump is funnier..

I heard that all the time when I worked for an advertising agency: Copywriters and Art Directors were “Creatives.” And nobody there seemed to even understand why I found it grating.

    Plastic JJ Band:

The top right corner of her picture changes from frame2 to frame4; the bangles on her wrist change order from frame2 to 3; her brushes in the pot are in constant motion.

I’m focussing on trivia because I can’t cope with thoughtful whimsy from The Uncle Formerly Known As Stupidhead.

Republicans defunded the IRS so there would be no money for the dems.

You have no fear of being audited for your republican tax break for the rich which added 20% to USA’s debt.

JJ is looking older these days. Living with Zeke all these years would have that effect above and beyond the natural aging process (which is entirely optional in the comics universe).

I have always liked the sentiment in Buckminster Fuller’s expression, “I seem to be a verb.”

I for one am VERY upset that this strip had nothing to do with politics or bashing the former president again! Or even the current president! What’s going on with you, Trudeau?!

    btw where’s Bernard these days?

There was a time, possibly when this strip was new, that the EIC could be given even to singles without jobs. But, the wording has been changed requiring children be present.

It’s less demanding being a part of speech that can’t be a subject or object. Being on the diagonal lines in a diagram can be fun if you get tired of being on the level.

Hey J.J., if someone uses a term in your Wikipedia entry that you don’t like, then you can change it. It’s a crowdsourced platform that anyone can edit. Sometimes there are edit wars but typically if someone disagrees with a change you make then they’ll make an effort to find wording that works for everyone.

We really don’t know if art is the total source of income for J.J. and/or “Uncle Stupidhead” (aka Zeke), but they seem to be living comfortably where they are. But the arts and commerce have been in contention for centuries (which is why the arts have been subsidized by European governments for years). Artists (painters, sculptors, musicians, etc.) have expenses like everyone else. Walt Disney once said, “I don’t make movies to make money, I make money to make movies.”

I have always loved Joanie Caucus Redfern. When she ran away from her family when her daughter J.J. (Joan Junior), was just a little girl, I felt I understood her and sympathized with her. Recently, I’ve been feeling increasing sympathy for JJ. Yes, she’s a messed up woman. Yes, she has made very bad decisions for herself. But look at how angry she is here. It’s sad. She had a ton of manure dumped on her that she has yet to process effectively. She’s human. Perhaps someday she will free herself from the pain that makes her so unpleasant to observe.
