They left out the next panel where Elly grabs the cup and pours its contents over John’s head.

Back when I was working, I used to stir my morning cup of tea that same noisy way. The walls between offices were just a thin kind of particle board and the sweet old guy in the next office would hear me and tap “shave and a haircut” on the wall to say “good morning”.

If you ‘tink’ your coffee long enough. You will have to go somewhere and ‘tinkle’. won’t you?

Not my problem; my husband & I both stir our coffee/tea at our “coffee station”, where the spoon stays.

This can connect with the other storyline, where the Pattersons do a song:

John makes tinking noises like a hammer cracking rocks

Elly & Elizabeth: That’s the sound of Michael, working on the chain gang.

    April{as bass}: Well don’t you know.

Elly & Elizabeth: That’s the sound of Michael, working on the chain gang.

All day long he works so hard, not taking a shower.

Working on Canada’s only highway and wearing a glower.

He works all day in the hot angry sun.

Got arrested for a protest, thought to himself it would be fun.

His, his, his, his, his, his work is so hard.

Give Michael water, he’s thirsty now.

    His work is so hard.

Often it’s not the big problems that drive spouses to divorce or, worse, murder. It’s those little annoying, over and over again habits that drive one crazy.

I really cannot see the problem. I seems to me after awhile she wouldn’t even hear it anyore. It would be more like “white noise” that’s ignored. It reminds me of a woman complaining about her hubby snoring. After he passed, she wishes she could hear him snoring again. I seconded that!!

I had a favorite glass mug for my morning coffee (with milk and honey), and stirred my drink with a metal spoon, One day I noticed that the mug was a bit foggy where my spoon had been hitting it for years. Now I worry about long term gastrointestinal issues from drinking tiny glass pieces for many years. I switched to plastic spoons for stirring beverages – or plastic cups if I need a metal stirrer.

Helly, why don’t you go live on a desert island somewhere, seeing as EVERY LITTLE THING and EVERY OTHER PERSON ON EARTH drives you crazy!? Oh wait, you can’t live out in nature, because you can’t stand a single molecule of dirt! Once you vacuum all the sand off the island, it’ll just be you and the sharks. Please go!

Tinking is something that doesn’t happen around here unless we’re drinking hot chocolate. We don’t drink coffee and I don’t like anything else in my tea so there’s nothing to stir.

There could be a strip with a comeback:

John: Ugh, what is that? Elly, is it your time of the month?

Elly: I stink, therefore I am!
