Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for March 19, 2022

Tiffany has changed for the better, while Luann has sadly changed for the worse.

Telling Tiff that she’d been “shallow and selfish” to her face, after she just brought back Puddles, was rude.

And just offering a gift card, from your family business, as the big reward, was cheap.

Well, at least, this arc is over… YAY!! lol

Why was Puddles so content when he was away from home? I saw someone comment a few days ago that dogs only care about the present moment.

So is there a way to know if Puddles missed Luann and home?

I can even openly insult someone who drove to my home to deliver my lost pet, and it’s totally fine because I’m the titular protagonist! My Inner Beauty transcends any needs for simple decency towards other people, even those doing me a kind(ly)ness! Now take this $10 gift card for my parents’ lame teen hangout and get off my property!”

    Gee.

I’m not so sure, but I don’t think Tiffany and Luann are going to be “bosom buddies” after this as some fans were hoping.

But it’s all good. By doing this good deed, Tiffany has wiped the slate clean of all the mean stuff she did to Lu over the years. So, Tiff can steal Lu’s next boyfriend and not be a bad person.

And there’s two pieces of good news today:

    1) Puddles is finally home.

    2) And as Vily pointed out, Tiff is wearing one of Gunther’s shirts.

Hopefully THAT is a Good Omen for the future. :-)

Well, Bets did rub off on Tiff a bit. She brought up the reward in each panel. If it were Bets returning Puddles, she sure is likely to demand a cash reward and tell Luann to her face that gift card to dine at her parents’s place of business is lame and not useful to her. Good thing it was Tiff. Ivlax said it was rude of Luann to say to Tiff’s face that she used to shallow and selfish…remember they have known each other forever. Luann simply spoke the truth and Tiff did not take offense because she knew she spoke the truth and probably even felt proud of herself. She had leaps of growth as a person. Luann could learn a thing or two from her.

Puddles left the dog park via a hole in the fence.

He was heading home when Steffi picked him up. We know that because the drive by Frank as he drove home.

    He is microchipped.

The first thing you do is get the dog scanned so you can return it to the owner.

Steffi chose to keep and hide the dog, she shut Betts down from posting a picture.

    The others colluded.

    That is fraud.

Go on NextDoor.com and see all the people working, networking, crossposting, to get a pet back home and I have never heard a word about a rewatd, though they may be offered. And if there is a reward, he gracious.

By keeping Puddles overnight, they inflicted unnecessary stress on Luann and family.

This entire Pud arc is Frank’s fault, He saw Pud being picked up by someone he didn’t know and just causally walked into the house to get ready for dinner. He made no attempt to follow the car or at least get the license number.

Thoughts: The gift card was already the reward beforehand. It’s not as if Luann produced just for Tiffany. She asked for the reward. Does Tiffany usually eat there for free? She could treat the girls to a night out. Also, Luann’s “compliment” was insulting. It would’ve been kinder to say, “I was wrong about you, Tiff.”

Awwwww…. Puddles is pure joy in a dog form and Luann is so happy♡. Let’s hope this is the beginning of a deeper and more beautiful friendship between Luann and Tiffany. Finally all the old resentment seems to be gone away, Luann already seems to have better chemistry with her than with Bernice and I love their expressions in the last panel. Also, I’m sure Bets would appreciate that gift card offered by the Degroot family.

First of all, this ending is supposed to be funny and ironic, that the reward was not cash but a gift card to a place where Tiffany works. And it is. Second, keep in mind Luann is broke—-the gift card is probably all she can afford to do. And finally, Tiffany loses all the points she picked up yesterday IMHO. Everyone is always talking about how wonderful she is and how much she has grown. Well, she hasn’t grown near enough for all the praise she gets! A decent person would have just been happy like she was in yesterday’s last panel, hugged Luann, and NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT THE REWARD. That would have shown real growth and kindness. After all, Tiffany is well off again. She doesn’t need a reward and neither do any of the other girls, especially that money grubbing Bets. Puddles only spent one night with them. And finding his true owner took almost no effort, once they started looking. True, Luann should not have been so blunt with Tiffany. Both girls still have a lot of growing up to do. No friendship or bonding going on with these two for now. That’s disappointing to me but that’s K and G!!!!!C’est la vie!!!!!!

A bit of a disappointing ending IMO, but that’s to be expected.

As far as Luann being rude and insulting, I disagree. She’s probably in shock that Tiff would do something so kind and considerate, especially for her. She’s reminding Tiff of her past behavior, but she’s also (I think) admiring Tiff because Tiff has changed for the better.

And all you people who are screaming “rude and insulting”———what about Bernice? Bernice insults, criticizes, belittles, sneers at, and is downright mean to Luann on a regular basis, even to the point of implying (or saying outright) that Luann is stupid, but that’s OK. Everyone is all: “Oh , no, no, NO!! Bernice is Luann’s dear and wonderful FRIEND!!!”

The gift card might be for $50.00 or more, we don’t know. I once attended a medical conference where there was a raffle. Most of the prizes were gift cards to better restaurants. Nothing wrong with that.

I know it makes no difference to the Luann haters. If Lu had handed Tiff $200.00, they’d still scream Luann was “cheap and selfish” because she didn’t give Tiff $500.00

About the “reward”. Luann didn’t have to offer a reward, but once she did it should have been substantial, like $50 or so. So, the gals agreed that Pud had to go and Bets finds the info on Luann. They should have just been excited that a way was found to get rid of the “dorm dog” that no one was willing to care for! But then they heard that there was a reward and that changed everything. Tiff’s first reaction talking to Luann, was “lets not talk reward”, then, “what was the reward anyway” to being disappointed that its a gift card. Bets at first said, “I could use that” then wanted the reward shared four ways, but no one deserves a reward since they made no effort to try and find the owner and were willing to keep Pud until it became inconvenient. I can’t imagine this continuing on Monday, but I would have liked to see everyone’s reaction to the “reward”.
