I think I like Shirley’s more. It sounds more like a “getting off work” song. More joyous.
So that’s the actual words to that song! Back in the 90s (before they went defunct), department store Bon Marche used to use that song with the lyrics modified for advertising in their commercials, and as a result, I can only ever remember “Day-o! One day sale! One day only at the Bon Marche!” :P
