I check the battery level on my smartphone once a day and use it mainly for lists. Shopping list and what I need to do for various holidays. I have a Facebook acct for various reasons but I only check it once a month. I do have a friend who lives on Facebook though.
Well darn! Now it looks like pregnancy wasn’t the reason. Are they still going to grow things and sell them at a roadside stand. As they originally intended?
It is interesting that Gene refers to his parents as “old people.” Just wait until you reach their age, Gene. Then, I doubt that you will think of that age as old.
As for me, the older I get, the younger old looks.
Gene, the answer is Yes. I am old and left Facebook about four years ago—and miss it very little. My nonagenerian mother, however, runs through her family & friends every morning. Healthfully, she then puts FB aside—or, at least, that’s what she tells me.
I do not get what people find to do on Facebook for more than 5 minutes. I scan family news and move on. Do they play games through FB or something? I just don’t get social media. I have friends who live near me. And I learn things here in GoComics, but it’s read, maybe comment, and move on. Plus, it was Gene’s wife who put the info so quickly on FB rather than call the parents.
Without Face Book, how can we badger politicians, the political party they support. Rant and rave about our sports teams and belittle the opposing teams and their fans. I could never live without all the dog/cat/etc. videos. Face Book is our source of proving we the people are smarter than any President or Military Leader.
I can’t believe no one quoted Deana Carter from Strawberry Wine “I still remember when thirty was old”. Actually, that is a Matraca Berg quote as she is the song writer. Just one in a long list of her many writes.
I’m on facebook in the early morning while I have my wake up drink and late afternoon when I have a little relax me drink. if these times coincide with the times that my friends are posting it will indeed seem as if I am always on
it’s how we get to see family who live far away. No one sends photos in the mail anymore. I do not enjoy finding important news on FB though. I would prefer a phone call.

Take a look at the third panel. I can’t recall Jimmy ever using a plain, straight line arrow to indicate the words a character spoke.

This has been coming for a long time. Here’s an indication from a time when Gene still had long hair and a goatee.
