    Actually Hobbes is much more real than what the Q-publicans bring up.

    This is great. Just wondering if you needed clearance from Bill Watterson for Calvin and Hobbes to make the appearance, Mr. Luckovich.

    To be absolutely fair, half of those ARE real, but good things rather than the monsters rightwankers insist are hiding under our beds.

    @piper_gilbert — Yours is a great comment.

    I have to say here that I have seen lots of Antifa people. I grew up among them. They were men and women who fought Fascism on land, on and under the sea, and in the air during World War II.

    ‘Vast evidence that Donald Trump committed crimes’: Former DOJ official pushes Merrick Garland to re-look at Mueller probe

    “Many of us have long suspected that Barr deliberately set out to spin the contents of the Mueller report and manufacture bogus legal analysis in order to protect Trump from facing consequences for the crimes laid out in the report. We now have proof that Barr did exactly that,” the ex-prosecutor charged before noting that, now that Trump is out of office and not protected by a Justice Department policy that limited going after a sitting president, he is fair game.

    “The principle that no one is above the law is not self-enforcing. Justice can only be served if law enforcement agencies are willing to pursue justice against anyone who violates the law—regardless of the office they hold. There is no greater threat to the rule of law than failing to hold accountable the most powerful among us,” he wrote before adding, “Neither Mueller nor Barr made a final decision as to whether Trump should be prosecuted for obstruction of justice because DOJ policy precluded that outcome as long as he was president. Now that Trump is no longer president, the department needs to decide whether he will be prosecuted, and Attorney General Merrick Garland should let the American people know how that decision will be made.”

    Hammering home his point, he concluded, “There is vast evidence that Donald Trump committed crimes. Time, and litigation, have removed both the legal protection he had as president and the illusory claims of exoneration spun by Barr. Now is the moment for America to see equal justice in action. It’s time to finish what Mueller started.”

    Apparently the names Calvin and Hobbes were chosen in “honor” of the super-strict Swiss Protestant clergyman John Calvin and the English rationalist philosopher Thomas Hobbes, best known for his articulation of the concept of the social contract, without which humans, in a “state of nature”, would lead lives that are “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short”.

    We see Mike here in his full propaganda, disinformation mode putting forth the lie that those subjects and terms are imaginary and don’t exist. Let’s take a look at that:

    1. AntiFa – aside from the billions of dollars in damage and lives lost across the nation from AntiFa and BLM.org riots, ask any cop or Portland business owner if they exist. Don’t even have to go that far just do an online search, Wikipedia has a nice section on them and then there’s even there own website, AntiFa.org.

    2. “Woke” – Mike’s really stretching here as that term originated on left , was used by Obama, is a part of the LGBTQ and BLM movements and every other left wing type. In fact, I don’t get Mike’s much use of woke here as if you don’t acknowledge “wokeness” you come down on the wrong side of the left.

    3. CRT – seriously? It’s a part of the curriculum in just about every Ivy League and many other universities and colleges across the nation. It’s the main tenet of BLM.

    4. Cancel Culture – C’mon man, even President Trump fell victim to this else why has he still been banned from Facebook and Twitter? Not to be confused with people voting with their support or wallets as in boycotting (think Dixie Chicks, who are alive and well and still on tour). CC is when People and ideas are edited out of social media platforms. Heck you can see that right here as GC has decimated conservative thoughts and posters.

    5. Stop the Steal – Now this one is really funny. So Mike, you don’t think that there are a bunch of radical right wingers who believe that? Jeez, even Hillary and AlGore believed their elections were stolen as well as many of the left wingers here.

    Yeah, but I get it. This falls right in line with Joe Stalin’s school of propaganda and dirty tricks.
