Nelson, “Wee Lad” is an affectionate Scottish term for a small child not a small child who has bladder problems.

It’s not a wee wee lad. Then he’d have a problem.

A French man saying “Yes Yes” would also be concerning: “Qui Qui”

As someone who had a childhood history of bedwetting (they eventually decided it was because I was such a sound sleeper the “bladder full” signal wasnt enough to wake me up to take care of it), I cringe every time I see a storefront or a billboard advertising “Mattress Liquidators”.

“Once I was just a wee little lad / Full of health and joy / But grew up to be a creaky old man / of health and joy devoid. / My joints snap when I move / And Pop when I stop / And wheeze when I stand still / I can’t figure out what happened to me / And I guess I never will!” Thanks and sincere apologies to Tom Paxton’s “The Marvelous Toy.”

I teased my grandson one time by telling him that I heard that he still slumbered in the bed! He was very upset and vehemently denied it until I explained! ;o)

There’s the Monty Python sketch (regrettably cut from the show) where they’re having a taste testing in a French wine cellar, but all the vintages are “wee-wee, monsieur.”

For my kids, having such an accident in the pants was to “drench.” They were both well past having such accidents when they spent a day with Cousin Ben. As they were all outside, a rain came and went. When they went in, Aunt Judy said, “Wow! Are you drenched?” They assured here they were most definitely NOT drenched!
