On the one hand you have self serving lawyers like Rudy Giuliani, Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz. On the other hand you have the self sacrificing lawyers of the ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center. It’s like every profession with good and bad individuals. Lawyers are a popular target but what will you do if your new neighbor, who happens to be an unreasonable jerk, builds a fence five feet into your property while you’re on vacation and refuses to move it?

Contemplating the sad state we’re in, reminded me of a James Clavell novel. King Rat. Clavell’s first work and a very good one. Set in a Japanese prison camp, WW2. It was made into a movie, with George Segal. A novel I recommend highly.

(I know it’s off topic, sometimes you just want to share.)

Lawyers are the modern form of the Old West’s “hired gun.” Some have no morals, some are insane, and some are actually interested in doing what’s right.

Gasoline and crude oil is bought and sold on the world’s commodity markets. The gasoline in retail markets now would have been "priced"" months or years ago.

Well, yeah to ensure that gasoline, flour, wheat, sugar, corn, beef, etc) will be available at a reasonable price year round, Liberals created commodity markets. To the best of my memory, the Japanese rice futures market has been in operation since the 1600s.

If you haven’t noticed, Europe is having unprecedented cold weather, so more heating oil is required.

So you have a supply of gasoline readily available at a reasonable price, much, much cheaper than the rest of the world.

    You are welcome.
