He’s about as much “pro life” as Dr. Mengele.

Anybody who still thinks that the phrase “pro-life” means (to the people who brand themselves that way) anything like being helpful to all life is deluded. The phrase is pure Mad Ave, because “anti-abortion” didn’t win over any hearts, minds or votes. “I’m pro-life” just means “I think women should not have bodily autonomy (or an education or the vote, or shoes…)”

If the Christians want to control other people’s bodies, start with the males. When a male reaches puberty, he will store his sperm in a sperm bank, then get a vasectomy. When he and his partner want to procreate, his partner will be artificially inseminated. Only after they prove they can raise the child in a healthy environment, and can afford raising the to adulthood. The county can have a panel of “good” Christians oversee the applications. No more unwanted pregnancies. The “good” Christians will feel good about being able to control other’s lives.

If truly pro-life, why is this allowed to happen?

Anyone notice that the pro-lifers are already born? None are adopting nor are against the death penalty. Seems the only life they really care about is their own.

If a fetus is a person, then the republicans should assign it a SSN. Little do they know that about 1/3 of all pregnancies end in miscarriage (look it up).

So, my question is this: are the republicans prepared to pay death benefits to 1/3 of NATURALLY occurring miscarriages? I mean, these are HUMAN LIFE and they did DIE, so mom should at least get a check.

Years ago Sister Joan Chittister made the distinction between “pro-life” and “pro-birth”. Pro-birthers cease worrying about the child the moment it is born. Pro-lifers work to make sure after birth there is healthcare, education, safe living conditions. In addition policies like capital punishment should immediately cease. And during a pandemic everyone needs healthcare. It is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy .
