Will they alter their ritual in the future and eliminate the preliminaries?

Rituals are not sacrosanct and can be rescheduled. Just like a space launch wait until all conditions are good and all systems read go.

In Chicago the days won’t be of equal length until Friday.

Are they really too tired to stand an egg on end?

Are they really throwing away the dishware? The two of them can’t be trusted outdoors with real dishes?

My grill is under a roof. The only time I use it is when the weather is too bad for the screamers over the fence to be in their pool.

good heavens- how sad when a sweet cartoon and an idle comment on the weather [in Seattle] sets off a political polemic. to both sides, not that I dont care, but let there be at least one small space where we can meet in a common moment to enjoy a bit of simple humanity.
