It’s really easy to separate the Trump wanna-be politicians and those that show real leadership and are guided by science not political fantasy’s of convenience.
You can’t make me brush my teeth, go to school, get shots, buy car insurance, wear a seat belt, drink fluoride, use LED lighting, wash my hands, wear a mask, or think.
Walmart is mandating mask wearing starting Monday. Should be interesting in red-states when the lunatics start showing up without masks and heavily armed, demanding their freedom to be stupid.
Florida, Georgia, and Arizona, all in the grips of monumental increases in COVFEFE-45 cases, still refuse to mandate mask use. Alabama, Texas, Maryland, and Massachusetts, with Republican governonrs, do require masks outside the house. Still amazing that prominent virologists state that the backbone of the pandemic could be broken in 6 weeks if masks were worn by all U.S. residents but there are those still screaming that their civil rights are violated by such orders.
Over a century ago there was a person that consistently refused to follow public health guidelines in a crisis – the result was Typhoid Mary was locked away. Those that refuse to follow distancing or wear masks as needed should also be subject to sanctions – lock ’em up. (And no, children, and politicians that act like children, “freedom to infect” is not a constitutional right.
The news from Georgia makes me think of those cheesy teen horror flicks, when the cute girl says she’s gonna go to the pond alone to skinny dip in the moonlight. You just sorta know that it won’t end well. Cue the scary music.
God sure loves His “Bible Belt.” Hurricanes, oil spills, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes (New Madras Fault is 200+ years overdue, watch out when it finally lets go), crippling heat waves, and now, the icing on the cake, a deadly plague.
Georgia doesn’t have a coronavirus problem. We know because all the positives and negatives were counted by the Georgia Board of Elections, and the negatives won.
Our cases are soon to go up. There is going to be a mask wearing protest in front of the health department today. People here are not supposed to gather in large groups, so this should be interesting.
Forbidding local authorities from protecting citizens from a deadly virus is the most egregious example of rigid right-wing extremism that I have seen in this country. What kind of person would do that?
If it were Governor Abrams, Georgia would have had a mandate to wear masks, business shutdowns, and practice safe social distancing since March, and not as many cases or deaths as it does now.
Just remember, Georgians, you coulda had Stacey Abrams if it weren’t for all the cheating your previous secretary of state engaged in during the last gubernatorial election. Who was that asshole, anyway?
If GOP really think masks are worthless then they should stop profiting off the market by selling politically inspired conservative masks like MAGA and US and Confederate flags to the public. Just saying.

Damn shame Kemp stole the election. Poor guy, all he got was a bunch of whiny, disease ridden snow-flakes.

Governor Kemp is now SUING the Mayor of Atlanta to stop her taking USEFUL action by requiring masks.
The Mayor, who is an actual attorney, says “good luck.”
