I don’t know if I ever recall seeing any of the characters in other than the one outfit they always seem to wear. The only thing I’ve ever seen change is hats. I think Lucy wore the same dress for 50 years, even to play baseball.
I don’t know any other woman who would enjoy being seen in the same dress constantly for a half century. Maybe that’s why she’s so crabby.
I can imagine Charlie Brown’s closet full of nothing by yellow shirts with a zig-zag pattern.
Lisa and Bart Simpson have their “standard” outfits, but they are seen in other clothing at times.
Growing up in Cincinnati, I remember Hank Aaron tying Ruth’s record at Riverfront stadium in 1974 with hit #714. I recall the crowd roar could be heard for a mile.
I remember these days, long ago, when Hank and Boog battled it out to beat the Babe’s homerun record. The two, one black the other white, differed so much in their attack on the ball. Boog was a power hitter, a big brute of a man, much like the Babe, who would hit hard and long, when he hit at all. Unfortunately, he often struck out in his attempt to send the ball long. Hank was shorter and more muscular. Hank was a hitter: base hits, singles, doubles, tripples, and homers, too. He no doubt struck out too but that’s not what I remember of his play. He was a hitter and a good fielder, too. In the end, the hitter, Hank Aaron went on to establish a new record to be beat.
Two great events in my lifetime of which I’m the only person I know who admits I wasn’t present to see: Woodstock Festival (August 15-18, 1969) and Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium for #715 (April 8, 1974).
