Is there a snarky implication here that AAA’s services are ssslllloooowww?

My niece used to live in our town and away from the rest of her family. I bought her a AAA membership as a Christmas present. It was a gift to myself as well. If she ran into an automotive problem, she didn’t have to cry “uncle.”

I use them myself. Mostly out of convenience although we have gotten our money’s worth out of towing when we owned an older fleet of cars.

I have a friend who flew C-7 (Caribou) aircraft in Vietnam. One day he ran off the side of the runway. He opened the “tail gate” of the aircraft. let out the cable on the winch, attached it to a tree and towed himself back onto the runway.

In Britain they would call AA. If they did that in the U.S. they would get a 12 step help program.

Wheels have been around for quite a while. And places to get them stuck in even longer.

AAA is the best investment for a car you can ever make. Especially with a flat tire and a broken jack in Palm Springs at 1:00 PM in July and a plane to catch.

No, the AAA in the panel isn’t the American Automobile Association, it’s the Antropoid Axletree Autonomizers. It’s a proto- self-help transportation group.

Those bygone AAA days of sitting in my car at 20-below waiting at least an hour for their man to show.
