Had to google Kaiser roll. Here in S. Spain we call it a “star roll” because of the star cut in the top. In the Middle Ages they cut a cross in the top of the bread so it could easily be broken into quarters—if you slice a “star roll” in half through the middle, the top half often falls to pieces.
So, if drones do not leave the hive then how does a virgin queen get mates? Of course drones leave the hive, they are bigger and have larger eyes so that they can see and catch up with a virgin queen to mate with her. Only the biggest and fittest can manage this.
Once when I was little and at a family reunion I got stung by a bee. Boy did it hurt! Luckily, we had one of my aunts around. Put ice on the sting. Every so often, memories of that aunt (long since deceased) come to me.
Having tea in the back garden this AM and a bumble Bee did appear and while not to the size of a Kaiser Roll, the smaller flowers did drop dramatically when he landed on them.
We’ve got those monster bees around here. Sometimes I’m not sure if it’s one of the the monster bumbles or a small plane from the airstrip that’s close. My middle son freaks out when he sees or hears one. I reassure him that they want nothing to do with him because there’s nothing sweet ( smelling) about him.
Why are people so scared of bees? If they sting you it barely even hurts. It only hurts when an army of bees sting you. And when is that ever gonna happen?
