It’s pretty rare for a Sunday strip to follow immediately after the events of the weekday set.

I am SICK of these Sunday comics showing Luann as a total slob. This is REALLY getting old. I beg of you, Greg, PLEASE stop doing this.

    “OH, ME ME ME!”

Pretty obvious he wants to be picked because he has a great answer to her question as to what MESS she should address first.

Simplest solution: Put a door on her room. Close it. Put a sign on the door: (one of the two below)

    .

    “Condemned”

    .

    “Pittsville Dump”

“Messes,” Luann? Okay let’s look at THAT.

    1) Jack? NOT Your “fault.” The Big Goof hasn’t asked you out lately.

    2) Doug? NOT Your fault. Yeah you DID pick the wrong meet up spot, but Still Not YOUR Fault.

    3) School Issues? You’ve excelled in just about EVERY class including Art and the bio lab and getting good grades. In fact I can’t figure out WHY you’re STILL in Junior College.

    4) Career Choices? You still have plenty of time to decide. So don’t beat yourself up over THAT.

    5) Gunther? Uh. Well. Okay YEAH. That one is Definitely YOUR FAULT. Stop being so wishy-washy when it comes to him. And You may wish to keep the lines of communication open with him, in case Bets Fails.

Oh. And I have a suggestion. The next time you want to meet up with a guy? Meet up in YOUR room! Frank and Nancy will provide security. And you’ll have that joint spotless, just to impress!

SD, I think, called it on the room. And it does not matter in Luannverse. Let me make a point, if I may: projection really obscures one’s view of what the story really is about. The room is a methaphor. It represents her messed up young life, the aggravation her dad shows is hilarity ensues. When that room is clean, and stays clean then the strip is over, or she has gone on to the next stage in life. Cool it on the snark, unless that is your thang!!

We should have Nancy have a fake dream like last weekend’s. That way she made Luann wash her car. Now she should try to get her to clean her room.

Frank, I love you but ABSOLUTELY NO! In my experience, telling my problems at my father has always done everything become worse. I know, Frank is a good father and maybe (and I repeat, MAYBE) he could really be able to help his daughter. But if Luann doesn’t want to ask him for advices, I’m at her side.

I agree with the “tired of the messy room on Sunday” folks. It may be Greg’s way of taking a “day of rest.” It may also be a sign of laziness. Same general situation: Luann exhibits some sign of regression to an earlier age, parents exhibit a sign of parenting to a child that exhibits some sign of regression to an earlier age.

    No thought. No creativity.

It very rare that a weekday episode slips into the Sunday comic. That speaks against the idea that Sunday strips are planned out ahead of time.

Wow! That’s the worst I have ever seen her room. Interesting that she lists Gunther, Jack and Doug all together. That means she is conflicted about each and every one of them and perhaps sees each as a potential love interest? This really changes my perspective on her and tells me she has more interest in Gunther than I previously thought. Or maybe she’s just trying to avoid cleaning up that room!!!

I have no problem with the strip today, I thought it was pretty funny. As far as messes go, Luann isn’t any different than other people in the real world. I have seen rooms of friends which aren’t any more organized than hers. Yet let’s make one point. There are homeowners in this world who treat their properties and lawns as junkyards. They are disgusting to look at when you walk, ride, or drive past them and you often wonder how people manage or want their homes to look like junkyards. There are just those people who are too lazy to bother or care to take pride in the things they bother to own. I don’t know if Luann will ever ‘grow up’ from her current attitude, but for right now, I am okay with her.

I agree 1000%!!! I often skip Sundays cause it’s the same bloody joke! WE GET IT!!! Teenagers be meesy, oblivious pigs! Just read the same lame joke from “Zits” and “Foxtrot” and several other strips 12 times last month! How I wish the Sunday edition would just continue with the weekday storyline!!!

Before I even scrolled down to view the comments, I knew what I was going to type, although sallymargaret and a few others already said so. I am tired of wasted Sunday strips of Luann’s messy room. Cannot G. Evans start presenting us with a somewhat more mature main character, or will Luann be a teeny-bopper forever? And too many side-trips which leave us dangling, as to the outcomes. I am losing interest in this strip.

Why is everyone complaing about soooo many “Luann has a messy room” strips. The last one was three weeks ago, on April 28, and the one before that was on June 18 2017. I checked all the way back to May 14 2017, and those are the only Sunday strips that are about her messy room. Three strips in 105 weeks – just less than 3% of the strips – Doesn’t qualify as “every Sunday” or “this gag is getting tired”.

Maybe I shouldn’t say this but, for all those that get so bent out of shape over the comic strips, 1)create your own 2) don’t read it 3) remember, it’s a comic strip…..not your life LOL

Making social and career choices can be top priorities, but keeping your room neat is like breathing…….you just do it. Laziness is not an approved dispensation.

Gunther is a mess? Well now we know (for a fact) that Luann is (and was) jealous that he found a soul mate in Bets. Jack a mess? Jack is a close friend who could become a soul mate and boyfriend at any time. Doug a mess? Luann take a look at where you are going and how you handle things.

Maybe if she cleans up her messy room she will find the rest of her life becomes less messy as well. Also, look at the state of that closet! Most messy teens I know may have a hot mess in their room but their closets are organized and immaculate. That’s so they can look nice and fashionable. To them, the rest of it doesn’t matter.

Luann is at that age when she lives in a safe, but confused world. Her priorities are G-rated, and she still looks and acts like a 12 year old. That’s okay and understandable. I think I was 35 years old before I turned 20 years old. Now, I’m wondering if I ever had a mid-life crisis.

Gee what a great dad. Your daughter is super anxious about a number of problems in her life that are stressing her out, and what do you do? Nag on her by telling her to clean her room, giving her no one to confide in and on top of that giving her one more thing to stress about
