I think Sluggo’s uncles were introduced by Guy while he was drawing the strip. As for changing Ernie’s history of the strip, it’s very difficult to imagine early 20th century comic characters in an ever changing 21st century world. It’s why we’ve been inundated with reboots of hundreds of fictional characters and movies/TV shows over the past several years. Almost everyone is getting a remake these days. Unfortunately, the young who read the strips of today have no interest of the history of the strips. They miss out on what made comic characters so endearing in the first place.
Yes. I just finished a Space 1999 Moonbase Eagle and just started a 1966 Ford F-100.
On the flip side of things, some plastic model paint manufacturers still use the word flesh to describe their paints. Testors uses the word Cream. There are also flesh paint kits available that range from cream to tans to browns.
A shame that Mary Ann will probably not show up.
Now that Jan has retired, why just post reprints on Sundays? I would like to revisit this strip from the beginnings so why not get a change in strips everyday? Just asking…
I do have one of his hard covers. Published in 2000.
The only thing the frontage sign is missing is the address…
I recognized them too. But did a search to learn their names. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostly_Trio
The look on Dorothy’s face in the last panel is priceless. She’s cute as far as comic characters go.
Wow. Looking forward to the new story arc!
