I don’t know if I would have got further than “I don’t want…” but I know darn well i wouldn’t have got past “For your information…” and been able to sit at school. We didn’t get smart alecky to my parents. The biggest no-no was to reply to my parents with one little word. “So?”

Have Dad take you to school and remind him that sometimes it’s important to be a kid and to play, even if you work in an office.

If mom would look into homeschooling then Calvin wouldn’t have any problems being bullied by everyone at school including Moe and his teacher miss worma$$

My wife sometimes asks me if I would like to take out the trash. She does not appreciate it when I caper around the kitchen saying, “O gee! Can I? Can I? Please, please, please!” She puts up with me, I’ve been doing this kind of thing since before we got married over 47 years ago.

Lemme guess… as an adult, Calvin becomes a teacher.

Using the term FYI with your mom is never a good idea.

Motivation comes in various ways.

Just wait until Calvin grows up and has a job in a cubicle farm somewhere!

Life, huh?

I am 58 and I have dim memories of childhood. The rules. The rainy days. Going to school. The drudgery. I am semi-retired now. I am contented. The days of childhood were torture. I think Calvin represents most of us. Childhood had its fun and joys. But being an adult is far better.

I love Calvin’s scrunched up face! That’s me in the morning.

My Father used to say “I can’t make you do what you don’t want to, But I can make you wish you did.”

Darn, I miss him.

Applying the rod of knowledge to the seat of learning does increase motivation.

I use to tell my guys, "If I can’t make you do your job, I’ll make you wish you had.
