maybe I watched a different version. The one I saw was, oddly, laden with references to D-Day and the liberation of Dachau, filled with platitudes, short on facts, and completely the murders of school children and church goers. But he did manage to bash immigrants, while ignoring the separation of children from their families.

TelePrompter Trump: Long on platitudes, short on facts; delusional declarations, exalted exaggerated ego mixed with spurts of iron curtain strongman rhetoric and a dash or three of WTF? Oration skills of a kindergartner using his finger to follow the text. Pity the poor speech writer wracked with the task of writing a speech intelligent enough to engage the intellect of the world audience while using grade school syntax to avoid confusing the Idiot in Chief as he reads the mirrors. Home run? More delusion in graphic form. May the gods help us.

More proof that Gary Varvel is a republican troll. You should know that, as Ronald Reagan said, “Watch what I do, not what I say.” The do was a triple play out.

Now this is a funny cartoon. Just not the sycophantic adulatory message Varvel intended.

So, according to the time stamps on these comments, Varvel posted this ‘toon to the site less than 9 hours after the end of the actual SOTU. Fast work. Makes me think he had this one ready to go before the Orange Idiot actually spoke. That’s pathetic Gary.

Very well written presentation, only one outright lie, and great care taken in not giving specifics that could be easily verified. Also, taking credit for events that would have occurred anyway was clever. The North Korea war extrapolation was off the wall though.

Is that a cricket bat Dumps using? He’d need that much flat surface to hit anything at all, must less out of the park. I understand he called for unity and preached division at the same time. Figures.

It was a dribble down the 1st base line the the Umpire Gary Varvel declared a Home Run.

At this point, Trump could change water into wine, walk across the surface of the Potomac, raise a man from the dead, and after all that the Dems would gravely intone that all of those actions prove that he is biased against Islam – and a racist misogynist, if the resurrected person were white, and male.

A well-padded speech with a lot of feel-good stories about heroic people from the past, punctuated by his ridiculous insistence on building a wall…

They give him a special oversized bat and gently lob larger balls that are harder to miss. They got this picture on Take 72, after giving up on a real ball, and just photoshopped it.

If this cartoon was intended to be humorous then Varvel hit one out of the park. If it was intended as a serious political statement he whiffed.

57% of independents said the speech was “very positive”. Net 75% of independents saw it as positive or very positive.

Not bad for a foul ball with a corked bat. Of course the call of “Home Run” was made by an NFL umpire.

Gosh. Let’s be more accurate here. The President is so awful at giving presidental style addresses, that when he actually is able to read a professionally prepared speech, he is seen as being wildly successful. To put this in a baseball metaphor, we’re cheering him because he actually hit the ball instead of whacking the catcher with his bat.
