For help on how to follow a comic title,
Isn’t it just math? Taxpayers more or less foot the bill for lockdowns, closed businesses, health care for the uninsured, economic negatives of a pandemic, etc. If the cost of some prize money gets you a sufficient increase in vaccination rates to offset those other costs, it’s a win.
It’s a whole other conversation about how people got so misinformed as to think it’s a bad idea to get vaccinated cough Conservative movement cough.
And good for them getting common sense policies to help everyday people into the dialogue!
Came here and was not disappointed by the utter inanity of Rall’s comic today.
The question of vaccinated people getting and transmitting asymptomatically is still up in the air. Why the f*** do you care if people want to be careful for a few more months? Get a grip, Rall.
If you know the baseline spending (continuing current spending levels and trends) was $5.7 Trillion then it doesn’t seem such a big deal.
How conveniently Ramirez forgets Trump wanted to slash CISA funding. Wonder why? How about an honest cartoon about how the former guy wanted to gut CISA and the current guy wants to rebuild it? https://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/487120-lawmakers-criticize-trumps-slashed-budget-for-key-federal-cyber-agency
Um, if you put timestamps on the announcement one might accidently come to the conclusion that as time passed and experience and data accumulated the CDC could take that into account and update their recommendations. Or leave out the timeline and just make an inane comic.
Please, if you want to talk about “Garbage In, Garbage Out”, let’s take a close look at 30+ years of right wing talk/hate media. My stepdad used to be a smart guy. After decades of watching and listening to that, letting Rush and the rest take a dump in his skull everyday for hours he’s just a mass of rage and alternate reality. #SAD
Varvel never fails to illuminate for me how utterly devoid of truth and reality is the right wing media. Thanks, man!
