Thank goodness for the comments section! I puzzled over this one for several minutes before I gave up. I knew the explanation would be here. I got the in like a lion part but the Easter lamb bit totally eluded me. Thank you.
OK, we have spoiled and humanized our 7th dog since we got him just before 2019 began, but I don’t get the lamb reference at all. I at first thought they were making a pretense at worshiping Ludwig and the lamb was some Christian reference, but …And yeah, I’m way behind reading this.

Ya got Luddy rethinking this whole thing! Like, maybe, how much can I get away with?
Nachikethass about 5 years ago
Luddy looks puzzled! Does a “lamb” go out or a “lamp”? But then, March goes out like a lamb – thankfully not like a lamp!

So if March comes in like a lion king, it must go out like a leg of lamb?

Okay… I got lion king reference right off. But cmon… does he pride himself on being the freaking New York Times crossword puzzle of the comics world?

See today’s “Barney & Clyde” for a similar reference.

Er…. right. Time for a cartoonist intervention. Ever hear that if you have to explain a joke, it wasn’t funny?

Is the old adage that unknown these days – that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb – referring to Spring’s change in weather?
It has nothing to do with Easter – which this year, like many, is not until April 21 this year!
