Makes it 1971. Dylan was born in 1941 and would be 77 today.

How strange it is to be 70…

Amazing how so many people (myself included) can still love and enjoy a comic strip written in 1971!

I was wondering what the joke was here…until I remembered how old these comics are!

My late stepfather saw Dylan perform early on in his career. He said he wouldn’t last. Little did he know. . .

Bob Dylan WISHES he were 30 years old still…

And I think the joke was, in the time this ran, “never trust anyone over 30” was a common refrain…

Ooh boy.

If that can comfort you Charlie, he’ll win the Nobel Prize a few decades later.

What’s really depressing is how old he is now. If that’s not enough, my age depresses me.

As well as my daughters get along, Dylan is one of the things they absolutely can NOT agree on. The 13-year-old loves him; the 15-year-old can’t stand him.

Who knew Dylan would still be right.

On another note…I looked up “Gotta Get Outta This Place” and what popped up was the reminder that this song was extremely popular with the guys in ‘Nam (for obvious reasons) along with a picture of a jungle taken from a helicopter door. After all these years, still brought tears for all those who didn’t get outta that place.

Even ages can be depressing to Chuck.

I remember being little and thinking thirty was ancient. Sigh!

Even at thirty Dylan looked like he was pushing 100.

1971 was closer to the Great Depression than we are now to 1971.

Dylan is a legend, with one of the most distinctive voices in music. I think he’s great. Happy Early Birthday, Sir!
