Grandparents no longer have to worry about ovulation, and they can take a vacation and use aviation to get the sensation of elevation. They need some stimulation before facing cremation.

Uh-oh. Be careful, Bernice. You might inadvertently encourage Luann to try recreational drugs.

Don’t wish to hurry things up, Luann, you will be old soon enough.

    .

Unless Greg figures he can retire by accelerating Lu and Bern to their nineties and closes out by showing them sitting side by side in their wheelchairs watching the sun set from the window in their retirement home. Alas, Thelma and Louise it is not…

As much as medicine costs these days, it’s not the medication.

As an aside to the many comments of yesterday re: motorcycles, with many good points and suggestions…#1 thing to remember when you are riding: you are INVISIBLE. Not because you are to small, not because you don’t have your headlight on, etc. You are invisible because the brain only sees what it is looking for and other drivers are looking for CARS and TRUCKS. You don’t register on the brain.

Moral of the situation? Defensive driving- ride like no one can see you.

My Grandparents has long since gone to heaven. Grandmother in 1980 and Granddad a year later. I still miss them.

Why does the final panel’s dialog remind me of Adam Sandler’s Cajun Man?

Luann and Bernice years later in a nursing home:

    “You know who I envy?”

“Um, didn’t we have this conversation before?”

And once Luann reaches Grandparent age, she’ll envy the youth for having the energy to runaround and do stuff that she’s too old to do. It’s a vicious cycle.

    I’m a grandparent…actually a great-grandparent. I’m healthy, active, and social.

Go spend some time at a nursing home, Luann. You won’t envy the elderly for long.

Not everyone over the age of 50 is on meds. Nor should we be.

Yeah it’s great except for the few aches and pains and still worrying about the kids and grandkids!

Hey ladies and gents!! I really think Luann and Bernice are talking to (or about) most of us because we are of the age of grandparents, or even great-grandparents, and definitely take lots of medicine (drugs-can’t live without them). Could it be Karen using Bernice to make a sarcastic (snarky, now I know what snarky is a diminutive for) comment about old people.

Luann, the law is that at age 18 you are no longer a “pre-adult”.

Its amazing how Borenice has all the answers for everybody else but herself. And she’s so nonchalant while answering it is amazing.

Greg’s Clever Salute to Grandparents Day would be more evocative if it were not out of the mouth of such-a-loser Luann and her snarky friend, Bernie….
