Rat was planning to join Procrastinators Anonymous, but he kept putting it off.

So accurate it’s scary. I know, being a writer myself.

Reminds me a bit of Helen Reddy’s “Tried to Write a Song.”

Not just “…in the life of a writer,” Cartoon-Boy! There’s a lot of that going around in, oh, so many professions, especially those that do most of their work at a computer….

Day starts at 8:01 AM with the plan to write ten pages and ends at 5 PM with zilch. So that means Tuesday will probably end at lunch time given Rat’s work ethic. Have twice as much work thus his work day will be half as long.

I am doing a course as a writer this was covered in the syllabus

I woke up yesterday with nothing to do…..and went to bed last night with only half of it done. I must be on the opposite side of the coin from rat.

What Pastis left out is that you can’t start writing until you’ve read the comics.

I can relate to Rat at 8:17a.m. I also don’t write on an empty stomach…PAPER is much better!

My only issue is, why did he need ink?

I’m retired. Wife asked me what I was doing. I said, “Nothing”. She said, “That’s what you did yesterday”. I said, “Yeah, but I wasn’t finished.”

At least he’s in a rhythm.

I like how Pig calls and talks for a minute, which wastes Rat’s whole day.

That’s not at all how it goes for me, because I have everything lined up. I made up the story before I wrote one word. Now I’m on page 173 of volume two of a three volume trilogy.

How well I know this! But honestly, the fact that the online site I write for has cut their pay by 75% doesn’t help with inspiration, either.

Whoa. That makes two days in a row that I was starring in Pearls. Pastis owes me royalties.

Pay up, pencil boy.
