My oldest granddaughter had her heart set on going somewhere with friends and mom was opposed to it. Granddaughter challenged mom, “I’ll wrestle you for it, I win I get to go!” When I asked dear little granddaughter how that worked out for her she sheepishly replied, “She sat on me.” Tru story!

But, in case you missed it, the name of this strip is, “Garfield”. And you can’t change that, Nermal.

I’d discourage Nermal from provoking Garfield were it not for the fact that I like any character capable of getting under Garfield’s skin and not being afraid to do so.

Nermal you need to learn when to keep your mouth shut.

The thing about kittens is that they eventually get bigger.

Although I guess Garfield doesn’t need to worry about that happening with Nermal.

My daughter got a male cat (Soot) that turned out to be pretty large as an adult. A couple of years ago we had a beat up male kitten (Momo) show up on our porch. He’s good natured, but can be a real pill sometimes. When he was younger Momo spent a week or so with Soot and Soot was able to put Momo in his place. Momo was smaller then. Today he’s much larger than Soot (by about 5 pounds and a few inches) and they are getting ready to live together for a few months while my daughter’s new house is being built. This should be interesting.

All that to say – Nermal could one day give Garfield a run for his money.

Careful Garfield, I knew a cousin of mine who always picked on his little brother because he was smaller than him, until the summer of their sophomore year, and then he was four inches taller..
