Good news for Tim Rickard there’s a Mad Magazine that was given away on free comic book day this year so if that turns out to them hitting the newsstands and comic book stores, you can take that tweet down.
Do the self-repairing robots have any function besides repairing themselves? And what’s so dangerous that their only function is to repair themselves? If they had any AI they’d stop doing whatever is harming them.
AI has been a SyFi trope from the start. It always turned out bad. So what do we do? Built multiple AI systems and turned everything over to them. I got a bad feeling about this.

Sure they have, but when it becomes possible, whatever it is, people are gonna do it anyway.

I’ve often wondered that, Pam.

They’re too busy building robots.

What if they start building von-Neumann probes. Machines that can build other machines. They should look into that.

Tech Company: At long last, we have created the Torment Nexus from classic sci-fi novel Don’t Create The Torment Nexus"

Replicating AI robots will invent an Artificial God, AG, then various religious factions will emerge and they will fight…

The scientist have probably seen quite a few sci-fi movies. That’s where they get these ideas. What a sick bunch.
Kroykali about 1 month ago
Yes they have Pam, but they only remember the self-repairing part.

Humans are going to destroy themselves eventually anyway. AI bots are our only chance to avoid extinction.

Apparently not, because the Scientists don’t usually last too long in them… ☺

Better check that blaster, Pam. If the label says it was made by Microsoft, featuring Copilot, you will be in for a nasty surprise.

No, Pam, they don’t have the time. They’re too busy building all those robots! d;o)

They are modern day Frankensteins.

Robots that revolt and attack humans? Does Winky know about this?

Have they forgotten all those killbots?

The problem is the scientist

Actually Pam, most of them watched a lot of Sci-Fi, they just also have an inexplicably optimistic view of humanity.

It is far better to make friends with them now than to fight them as enemies later.
