Siri and Alexa will probably end up fighting each other and all the other AI systems. In the process we will all be killed accidentally instead of on purpose.

I, for one, welcome our new digital overlords.

I switched from Alexa to Google, more music without the lectures. I own 100’s of songs on Alexa but it lectures me on paying monthly payments everytime I told it to play a song. Google has millions of songs that I can download w/o streaming. Just a better service. I also get Youtube TV, beats Amazon..

This is by far the worst Garfield comic ever made. The joke is so over done it cant be over stated and the implementation of an IA Based social credit system is not what I like to read in my morning Garfield. I like gags and goofs, not the reminder that we will soon be living in an intrusive authoritarian state.

I loved reading Asimov’s robot series as a kid, and grew up seeing Forbidden Planet and the robot B9 in ‘Lost in Space’. It was so refreshing to see and read about robots that were something different to the usual modern Prometheus tales.

In Sock Puppet Joe’s case, a little intelligence, artificial or otherwise, would be a big help.

There was a The Garfield Show episode where this AI was taking over their house.

From the humble Siri or Google Assistant we now have ChatGPT, Bard and Bing AI!! These humble electronic things will take over the world soon or already may have. I may be typing this while my laptop is pointing a gun at my head. NO no no AI is not harmful AI is good for mankind. Sorry Laptop!

AI is not taking over the world; we are surrendering the world to it.

Too many people are letting machines do their thinking for them. As proof of this, look at how many cars do not have their lights on when they should. If you need more, look at the stories of people who drove into water, or buildings because they were following their GPS program.

But what would the AI takeover actually look like? Too many people think it would be like Terminator, but given how AI works I’m thinking the more likely outcome is like “I, Robot.” There the AI simply took control by doing it’s job really well and making the human rulers redundant, and everybody was pretty much fine.
