Some years before there was a story where the kids had to read Gulliver’s Travels and write a book report during a vacation. Charlie Brown kept putting it off, and getting upset at himself (sitting in front of the TV, he says “What’s wrong with me?”). If memory serves, Violet finished hers in study hall before vacation even started, leaving CB to says “I hate your kind.” He finally completed it at 3 am the day it was due. I suppose he learned from that experience.

Prepare to be disturbed again tomorrow, Chuck.

Poor Patty, I can relate. I’m a huge procrastinator. I made it through high school somehow, though.

I can see her handing in a spelling test with gems like “farmosoodickle” and “sikeallajee,” and telling the teacher, “They all SOUND right to me.”

She loves him when they play baseball.

That’s because he takes school more seriously than Peppermint Patty. Which is why he’s a better student. Not a better student like Marcie or Linus, but he doesn’t have Peppermint Patty’s grade average.

Imagine if cellphones had existed back then. She would’ve texted the same nonsense nonstop.
