My Mom always changed clothes before leaving the house, especially if she had to drop me off at school.

That car is so tiny, the gas tank barely comes up to John’s knees. I would be laughing too to see a car so small.

Move to Oregon, John. You’ll never have to pump gas again.

Oh big deal. Many people go to Walmart in their jammies.

That’s what you get for not stopping for gas on your way home from work last night.

Betcha Michael “borrowed” the car—which is why the tank is empty!!

Why is this funny? When I go out anywhere – gas, shopping, fast food – I see people (almost always women) in their jammies and bed robes & slippers.

That reminds me of high school. My Mom would drag herself out of bed to make sure my brother and sister got ready for school. Then take them to elementary school. I’d be ready to head for the bus and she’d say get in the car if I have to take them you might as well ride too. Always in her pj’s and slippers. Grumble all the way . I really proffered the bus my buds all rode.

Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do and figure you’ll never see those people again.

I ran out of gas, once. That was more than enough. Since then I fill up the tank whenever the gauge drops below half a tank left.

Look! A big yellow school bus — not a rickety old Metro bus.

Will there be a strip where John tells Elizabeth: “Your lack of preparedness does not constitute an emergency to me!”

In my years of riding school busses, I can’t ever remember one arriving earlier than the schedule said.

Honestly I don’t think he’d be the first OR the last guy to be at the gas station in pajamas, even back in the 90s.

I can think of a bunch of reasons to NOT move to Oregon, and pumping gas, either my own or by someone else isn’t one of them.

This is what comes from too much hover-running. Unless there is a good breeze, you have to kick off from the ground at some point. If only Elizabeth had been running and not hover-running, she would have caught that bus. The morale of the story is: “Those who want to get in line, don’t hover-run.”

That’s all that’s here in NYC are self-serving pumps. And that’s okay with me because I feel better when I do it myself.
