I relate to one of the characters in today’s strip…..and it ain’t Monty. Now “Get Off My Lawn!”.

Just not Monty’s day….year….decade…

Maybe now the old guy can make sense of those messages in his head.

I guess 56 wasn’t a good year for him. That’s the year he purchased a 1956 black corvette with silver coves, and then dag-nabit, I lost my %&# decoder ring.

What’s a Flash Gordon Sea-Scoured Ranger Ring worth nowadays?

My decoder ring was made out of plastic so that metal detector wouldn’t have been much help in finding my lost ring.

When you can snatch the ring from my hand grasshopper.

It was made in 1956 so it’s probably made of lead* You’re better of without it, Monty. [*pure speculation]

I can’t find my Captain Midnight decoder. I did run across the Howdy Doody Clarabell horn ring though.

If you lose something and someone else finds it, they didn’t steal anything.

Were the original Flash Gordon decoder rings made of metal?

Monty is speechless! And so he should be, when some Old Dude Out of Nowhere wanders into the strip to claim what Monty found is a ring he lost in 1956 and then wanders out again.
