Looks like Luann is getting perturbed with Bernice and her condescending funny comments.

That Valentine flower arrangement looks pretty expensive. I’m shocked Tiff would give something like that to Aaron. More likely, the guys would be giving, something like that, to her.

Poor girl. Being faced with your own opinion of yourself from the past can be traumatic, Perhaps this will be an impetus for Luann to make some self examined changes in her life.

What we saw this week is that Bernice is much more of a mean girl than high school-era Tiffany. Change Bernice, Evans.

Wow, Luann was right in yesterday’s strip.

I haven’t read much of the earlier times, but Aaron Hill always struck me as a goofy guy. I wonder what Luann’s impression of him would be today.

She laughed! a) this actually happened in the strip. b) it was a crushing humiliation for Luann and c) her best friend has no sympathy!

This is Saturday so what happens next will happen next week. I would not be surprised is Luann invited Bernce to find housing elsewhere,

Luann really will be better off without Bernice in her life. This so-called “friend” isn’t someone she can depend on anymore. I mean, for God’s sake, Bernice was snarky even when Luann was hurting over Puddles’s disappearance. She couldn’t muster up even one ounce of sympathy for her long-time friend. I don’t care what some people say here. A good friend doesn’t hurt her friend (even if she’s being “honest”) or say nasty things to her, especially in times of sorrow. Bernice is just too mean to be in Luann’s life any longer, and it’s time Luann dumped her.

Bernice can’t relate to Luann’s innermost thoughts because Bernice is not human.

Well, it made for a great comic strip, so why not?

I’d like to see Aaron Hill come back for a visit. It would be fun to see what he looks like and find out what he’s been doing. And if Luann would still crush on him.

It’s a good thing for B that SHE didn’t keep a diary; wonder how she would feel if hers was laughed at…

Wait a minute. Wasn’t it just yesterday that Luann’s recorded questions and comments about Bernice were insulting? Bernice seemed to think so.

In the first panel, Tiffany looks just the same as she looks today.

BTW, isn’t it high time for Bernice to find other living arrangements??

Since this testiness shouldn’t escalate to DEFCON 4, I think it is safe to anticipate Monday, when Gunther becomes emotionally involved while measuring Bets’ for a new costume.

I remember that arc, Luann was devastated and still is annoyed about that. Bernice really has the delicacy of an elephant! I’ve always feared that in most of the cases the old saying “Someday you’ll laugh at this” will only work with someone who hears about it, not with you.

LOL at the Bernice bashing.

I’m sure many of you have or had at least one Bernice-like friend, who was (more or less) as pragmatic and critical and yet, you were able to tolerated them.

And why? Because they had more appealing qualities in their personality that outweighed the negative traits. And I’m sure that’s what Luann sees in Bernice.

So Bernice is not good at this “Muse” thing.

Bernice is the kind who would laugh at her husband’s misfortune of not being able to “perform” on their wedding night.

“Get out of our house, Bernice.”

Bernice should trade in her aspirations of a career in counseling for something like collections, or professional asassin. She has no sense of empathy, essential in any kind of counseling.

I’m glad Tiff has grown up after high school. She and Luann may not be the best of friends, but she’s shown she moved past her selfishness for the sake of others. Not calling her an altruist by any means, but she’s not the antagonist she used to be.

Bernice is a real insecure young woman. I had a friend like that growing up and he really never got over being insecure.

Bernice, you really shouldn’t mock and laugh at people. Then again, mocking people is the essence of your being.

This strip has become a mess…..

Boy people allow themselves to be led around like a draft animal (please no insult meant, just a metaphor) by focusing on character traits, well-identified in Bern’s case, without seeming to understand they are created around a continuing evolving story of Luannverse. Yes, Bernice is sarcastic, dismissive, the type who does not know how clueless she generally is, all those things and more. But she serves not only as a comic foil, for those reasons, but she is a true friend and would do anything, self-sacrificing, to help her friend. She is a great friend for Lu, and the story follows the Overview Statement of the strip; mainly that it follows the lives and foible’s of the main characters (and close recurring, for example, Tara). Bern foibles are illustrated as part of her personality, but, always in the end she is with and always tries to help her doofus friend, whom I remind the strip is created around. It’s her world and the story of her in that world. Besides the punchline today is spot-on with Luannverse

I’d like to see Aaron Hill return from Hawaii.

The highlighting of Gunther’s yearning for Luann is not coincidental. This story arc is fan service to the early years of the strip…just like they do in long-running sitcom series finales (blue French horn, anyone?). I have long posited that this fan service will come to a full head, when it is time for the strip to be retired. Luann and Gunther will marry. It’s still years away.

This should be Luann’s time, hence the title of the strip “Luann.” Let some good experiences happen for Luann. Time for Bernice to move out and find herself. Let her family handle her. Bernice needs to get someone to give her therapy!

judging by the look on Luann’s face this arc may not be over and there’s still time for Luann to have that ‘word’ that she wanted to have w/ Bern back then. Lets hope that these two have the talk that they need to have.

A idea for Mr. Evans, write a series of strips as to where Aaron and Gunther’s ex-girlfriend are now.

I might have laughed at her nun or astronaut comment, but I think if I looked at Luann’s face and saw that it still hurt, I’d temper my laughs. I’m surprised Bernice isn’t more attentive. Luann was embarrassed by her 13 year old Bernice comments. Disappointed in Bernice.

These two are way past being attentive or considerate in their friendship. Where else can you get a good put-down these days, if not at home?

Time to rewind and really play the part where Little Luann was ripping Bernice a new one.

“Luann” as a comic strip is so true to life. It reflects the reality of much that happens in our real world: so often so short on compassion and kindness.

Bernice has been on my nerves for quite some time. So toxic.

For a character that Team Evans said would never be brought back, Aaron Hill sure pops up from time to time…

Thursday and today both seem to point to Gunther having a crush on Luann. Hmmmmm! Could something happen there?

Think again, Bernie. It’s almost a comic strip!

Instead of a romance novel, I’d love to see a murder mystery, where Bernice is found dead or disappears completely. She is NOT a good friend when she cuts down Luann at every opportunity.

I really didn’t see Bernice like everyone else does but today is kind of messed up. Why laugh at Luann….exactly what part ws she laughing at? The astronaut part or the failed romance part? LuAnn didn’t laugh when she was upside down with her muse stuff…

Bernice reads romance novels? I thought she was only into psychology tomes.

Perhaps Luann should rewind the tape and play that bit about Bernice after all.
