Bearly a chance to get out of the woods

Anybody that hauls a TV and satellite dish to a campsite is probably not all-natural.

A Larson burrito! (Still chewy on the inside but not crunchy on the outside like the ones polar bears can feast on the Far Side of the Arctic).

All that was left in this remote location afterwards was the remote.

My four year olds teacher held up a picture of a tent and asked what it is. Grand daughter says a tent. Then the teacher asked what’s inside and the grand daughter says a movie. That’s all she knew. They’d set up the tent in the backyard for a sleep out and watch a movie.

I get a kick at the enormous motorhomes outfitted with every possible option so you can drive to a camping ground and be close to nature!!!

He is wacthing a documentary from the serengeti.

How nice – the dinner provides the movie.

Tent stakes are good toothpicks and tent fabric makes good floss for those hard to reach spaces.

There is such a thing as “beer-battered shrimp”, so “beer-battered camper” would be on the bears’ menu……

I’m probably in a minority here by rooting for the humans against the Wiley Bears.

Most of the time.

Anyone who gets away from it all out in the woods and then sets up a satellite TV forfeits most of my sympathy.

If there’s a Yogi Bear cartoon with the movie, the bears may be merciful.

The greatest irony possible here is if the camper is watching the Grizzly Man documentary.

The new "old fashioned’ Paleo diet. Long pig and beer. Go for it Yogi.

I used to love camping out in a tent when I was young. Now I’d appreciate the comforts of a nice camper van but sans TV.

My concept of roughing it is a black and white TV in a cheep hotel room.

And he’s even microwaving himself. The new trend in considerate prey.

Out here in New York,news story yesterday about a Connecticut woman who came home to find a Mother Black Bear rooting around her kitchen.

Her cubs were out in the yard,waiting for Cheerios.

When I was a younger lad, backpacked in the Rockies, and took multi-day canoe trips down the Missouri River. Comfort was bringing wine and steak, while sleeping outdoors. Hauled our food up a tree to reduce visits from prowling grizzly bears. Now, have an RV with microwave, ‘fridge, and gas stove. With internet access, don’t need a TV.

1949 I was part of a group from a 2 month camp in East Waterford ME. We were trucked to Mt Washington. Climbed to the ‘Half Way Cabin’ & put up out tents in dense pine tree woods about 200 feet from Halfway House. The Night sounds were scary ‘entertainment’, especially a very vocal owl.
