Same here. Redesign the mask to have a band that circles the head and doesn’t hook on the ears.

I wear bilateral hearing aids and when covid hit and we had to wear full PPE (I work in hospital theatres) I was told to stop wearing them by Infection Control. They had a point, as I was forever accidentally flicking my glasses into the bins when removing all the gear after six hours in it (bonnet, fit mask, face shield, overgown, multiple pairs of gloves). At least glasses can be easily cleaned and disinfected! And found…

I had to get new glasses because they were scratched up from constantly cleaning off steam and falling on pavement every time I took off a stupid mask!

Opal has listened to you, Earl. She has just decided not to take your suggestion. … … Now if she took her hearing aids out, she actually (literally) might not (be able to) listen to you … and she could also take her mask off without one of her hearing aids falling out.

Since I keep my reading glasses and my face mask in my shirt pocket, I’ve lost a few glasses when I took out the mask.

I have found that if you go to the top of the loop and work it around your ear that the aides will stay put. Now that I’ve said that I will tell you that I am old and don’t always remember.

The key is to not be disgusted by it in the first place, then you’re less likely to take it off in a huff resulting in accoutrements (glasses, hearing aids, earrings (if you wear them)) flying off.

I actually lost one of my behind the ear hearing aids when I took off my mask before I got in the car. It landed under the car parked next to mins, before I could try and get it back he left, driving right over it. Since then I never wear the remaining hearing aid when I need to wear my mask. Also discovered that the glasses I wear only when driving can easily get tangled in them if I forget to take them off before donning the mask

My problem is earrings! The mask loops get caught on them something terrible (ofc I do have 5 in each ear lol) it doesn’t help to take the mask off from the front (and I often wear a baseball cap with my ponytail through it anyway) I just have to carefully work the mask loops off around my earrings (usually have to take my glasses off too or the damn loops catch the arm!) Thankfully the only place I still have to wear a mask is doctor’s offices/hospital

My therapy dog and I see people all the time on the rehab floor who have been in the hospital for as long as a year or more. They caught covid due to either themselves or a person they trusted going out without precautions and now have long covid. They really like the company as the staff doesn’t have time to sit and visit with them. What I have seen is enough for me to continue to wear a proper fitting mask when I am around people. I have no idea where others have been or who they have been around. I am high risk and I am not taking chances. My grandchild wears a diaper. I don’t. I take precautions to stay safe and long covid is no joke.

If one removes the face-mask ties from front to back, it will not dislodge your hearing aids. I finally figured this out after having the ties get tangled in my aids.

This is why the masks which go over your head instead of behind your ears are better, for glasses (and hearing aids) wearers
