When your friend knows your despair too well, they treat it as the most normal thing in the world. You can just see Linus casually walking away.

CB’s despair is well-expressed

If you become a bump in a parking lot, at least you’d finally be noticed.

A speed bump in the road of life.

I’ve heard that the creator of Peanuts, Charles Schultz, saw the main character, Charlie Brown, as a reflection of himself. If so, is Schultz looking back on his own childhood and its feelings of inadequacy, or even reflecting on his own feelings in adulthood? Could he be second guessing his accomplishments upon reflecting on his life to date? I find myself doing this, too, as I look back on the roads not traveled.

Better than Richard III. There wasn’t even a bump in the parking lot over him.

Oh, the many times I “stewed in my own juice” like this…

Could be worse, they could make it into a cattle pasture.

He needs a talk from Mary Lennox.

I know people like this. They are not fun to be around, and deserve to be a bump in a parking lot.

Nobody can feel sorrier for himself than good old Charlie Brown.

And one of the most beloved characters in any comic strip ever. There’s a little Charlie Brown in all of us.

Charles Schulz is one of the richest dead celebrities in the world. Quit complaining.
