Tonight’s presentation is another true fact (absolutely the best kind of fact; false facts are no fun) from my sordid past. So many strange things have happened to me over the years that my wife calls me a “weird magnet” – and, yes, that begs the question of why she was ever attracted to me. But I digress…Several years ago, I was in the press box at a high school football game. The cheerleaders were out in front of the crowd, leading cheers (of course!). Three of them had signs to cue the crowd. The first sign said “GO” The second sign said “FIGHT” And the third sign said “WIN”.I’ll never know if she did it on purpose, but the third cheerleader was holding her sign upside down, and the crowd of mostly high school students was playing along, yelling Go! Fight! NIM!!It was almost beyond our ability to announce the game after that…

One time I was 4.3 percent.

    McBrill Bide

Paomi Nascal One time I was seven years old. Why didn’t her parents just buy her another teddy bear?

The waterwheel plant is an aquatic version of the Venus flytrap – it eats mosquito larvae, eelworms, and many crustaceans.

May the Lord be with you.

The adult human brain accounts for about 2% of body weight. I am not sure what the point is about the hummingbird’s brain.

Consider the poor people with less brains than a hummingbird.

Social media can be used for good. This is a prime example.

Many years ago on a family vacation, our daughter left her teddy bear behind at a resort. They were really good about getting it back to her, and even included a note from the bear in the package explaining where he had traveled to.

I think that people who collect like this are just sophisticated hoarders.

So now Naomi Pascal expects the world to jump through hoops on her behalf whenever she loses a toy. I’m sure she’ll be a responsible, productive adult someday.

The porpoise has the greatest brain to body ratio of invertebrates. So I find this quite believable about the hummingbird.

The supply of Hummingbird jokes was quite weak, but here’s an interesting tidbit of Hummingbird trivia at least as interesting as the RBION factoid.

Because of their tremendous metabolic requirements, hummingbirds have voracious appetites, equivalent to the average human consuming an entire refrigerator full of food. Hummingbirds eat roughly 2 to 3 times their body weight in flower nectar and tiny insects each day.

Next up, the best of the Hummingbird jokes that I found, and I warn you, it isn’t great.

My grandson gets homefrom school and says these kids were telling him the Liberty Bell was cracked because hummingbirds thought it was a giant flowerand kept crashing into it.

    My response?

“Well that’s a humdinger if ever I heard one.”

    Until next time.

About the hummingbird factoid: I”m guessing that people who read and comment on cartoons for hours at a time have brains which constitute a much lower % of their body weight? :-)

Just a couple of highlights from the article: he is married, and he spent $300,000 on this collection! (Yes, three-hundred-thousand dollars!)
