According to Wikipedia, only 60% of the Star Trek crew members that were killed wore red shirts.

“Space.” That’s the Kármán line, 100 km up, just one definition for the boundary between the atmosphere and space. The US says anyone going above 80 km is an astronaut. For the space shuttle, re-entry was considered to occur at 120 km.

Ensign Kenny doesn’t wear a red shirt, and he gets killed all the time

Little boys are not allowed to play with dangerous toys and not allowed to dress themself. No red shirts on Blue Origin.

“Redshirts” by John Scalzi. Winner of the Hugo Award for best SF novel of 2013. What happens when the redshirts realize they’re dying off more than they should. Funny and brilliant. Highly recommended.

Well, Scotty prepared the way for him and made sure he was beamed back safely…

Are we hitting all of the dubious Trek tropes this week?

There is, for sale, a red Star Trek shirt, with simulated cuts, blood, and burn marks.

Scotty wore a red shirt and he never got a scratch except for the brawl with the Klingons in a bar.

Would have been interesting if Shatner had worn his Star Trek uniform during his Blue Origin ride…

The Perfect Red Shirt has the words:

“I’m Not Stupid, I’m Not Expendable and I’m Not Going” printed on it.

Janice Rand was an ensign, IIRC. Eye candy, for sure.

I went to an auto parts store where the employees wear red shirts. 2 were outside helping a very shapely young woman install wiper blades. When I went inside I found a female employee staring out the window and fuming. I told her that they were red shirts on an away mission and one was bound to die.Everyone in the store cracked up but her. Guess she’s not a Star Trek fan.

“three other members of Blue Origin” is incorrect on multiple counts, as it means all 4 are members including Shatner. He of course is not; only ONE was, and the other two were paying passengers.

They did, however, have to listen to him “sing” “Slim Shady”
