As was pointed out the last time this came around, Adams & Jefferson did indeed both die on that day. Maybe they both deliberately hung on until then, or maybe there was some sort of conspiracy :,)
Coincidentally, Non Sequitur has a tribute to “Lee Salem, legendary syndicate editor, president and a great human being”. So I briefly thought that was the intent here.

I worked with a guy who was on a 25-hr cycle — every day he’d come in an hour later. His work was valued enough, and he worked mostly alone (except for a brief period with me), so management allowed it.
